As soon as Roxanne got back to her room, she started texting Elvira. She had already reached out to her when Sebastian first found her. Now, the two of them were back at it, cursing Sebastian up and down for the umpteenth time.
On the video call, Roxanne was lying at the edge of the bed, looking completely drained.
Elvira, on the other end, was fired up with righteous fury.
"Sebastian has issues. You already went halfway across the world to get away from him, and he still went to all that trouble to track you down. And after finding you, he's still making you miserable. What the hell is going on in that brain of his?"
Roxanne shook her head. She didn't know what the hell was going on in Sebastian's head either. If he liked her, his actions made no sense. If he didn't like her, his actions made even less sense.
Did he have a split personality or something?
Suddenly, Roxanne glanced around and then leaned close to the camera, her voice dropping to a whisper. "I've got big news."
Elvira knew her way too well. The second she saw how secretive Roxanne was acting, she caught the scent of pure gossip. If Roxanne was this hyped even now, then it had to be a major bombshell.
"I'm all ears."
Roxanne checked her surroundings again, then lowered her voice even more. "I saw Miles."
Elvira was shocked. "You what? Who did you see? Miles?"
Roxanne made a shushing gesture, and her expression was tense. "Shhh, shhh! Keep your voice down!"
Elvira stared back at her like she had seen a ghost.
Roxanne saw Miles?
Like… actually saw him?
Her voice was instantly filled with panic. "Babe, are you okay? Has Sebastian tortured you to the point of hallucinating? Are you so mentally drained now that you're seeing ghosts? How long does that bastard want to continue torturing you?"
Elvira knew about her depression before. And now, Roxanne's mind was so fried that she was seeing the dead?
If Miles was still alive…
Damn.
This just got wild.
Elvira literally jumped out of the frame in excitement. "Holy crap! The Halesworth siblings really played a long game, huh?"
Ever since Miles' death, the Halesworth family had reaped all kinds of benefits. Everyone could bear witness to it.
And Sebastian? The way he spoiled Liana was off the charts. That "Princess of Valoria" title she had was purely built by his favor and protection.
Elvira was hyped. "You have to tell Sebastian and tell me his reaction. I need to know! This is gold, hahaha!"
If Miles was alive this whole time, then the two siblings had basically pulled off an insurance scam. And they conned Sebastian of all people.
