She had thought Miles' email was an apology, a confession about not actually being dead or at least a detailed explanation of why he had faked his death. But instead, he made it seem that he had written this email ten years ago and addressed it to Sebastian ten years later.

The contents were full of sentimentality. The gist of it was that this year marked the tenth year he had spent by Sebastian's side. He fantasized about how AE Corporation had grown and what had become of their plans.

Had they accomplished everything they dreamed of? Had Sebastian truly become the top industry leader? And most of all, he thanked Sebastian for helping him fulfill his dream.

In short, it was nothing but pure nostalgia.

Roxanne couldn't understand how Miles had managed to make the email appear to have been sent ten years ago. But one thing was clear—Miles was alive. If he could fake his death, altering the timestamp of an email was child's play for him.

What made Roxanne laugh even harder was the structure of the email. In the beginning, Miles wrote about the satisfaction and glory of building AE Corporation alongside Sebastian. But toward the end, he shifted focus to his beloved younger sister, Liana.

He mentioned how he had now become independent and was finally able to give her the best of everything. He talked about how difficult their past had been, but now, he was finally able to hold his head high.

Roxanne's intuition told her that the real heart of the email was this part. She couldn't help but laugh out loud.

A subordinate wouldn't typically write a nostalgic email to their superior about their past decade together. Such a thing only made sense between lovers. And when a boss and subordinate wrote about the past, it would be about work achievements, not family matters.
