Chapter 119
“I–I should go home now,” Blake mumbled. Then he spun on his heel and dashed away.

He thought, Zachary’s sister is seriously terrifying. She looks so gentle and pretty, but she just took down and tied up a grown man with one hand!
‘If she ever finds out I was the one who talked Zachary into coming here, she’ll probably beat me to death.
Blake ran faster than he’d ever run before, darting away in a flash.
Zachary met Edith’s gaze and felt a chill run down his spine. “Edith, I…”
He tried to explain, but just couldn’t find the words. Everything he wanted to say got stuck in his throat.
Edith pressed her lips together tightly. No one at home ever talked to them about this kind of stuff, and at school the teachers just skipped over it.
Edith was only four years older than Zachary herself, so really, she had no clue how to even start this conversation.
Edith had just rough–handled Gavin and locked him up, so Zachary must’ve gotten the message that sneaking peeks at explicit videos was wrong. But when it came to actually guiding him, she was totally clueless.
Zachary mumbled, “Edith, I swear I didn’t mean to watch it. I won’t do it again…”
“Just go to bed,” Edith cut him off and then left directly.
She needed to do some serious online research, like how one even talked to teenage boys about stuff like this. Only when she’d figured that out could she hope to get Zachary back on track.
Zachary nervously followed Edith out, his heart pounding in his chest.
Honestly, he would’ve rather Edith just yell at him or even smack him. All this “all bark and no bite” stuff was freaking him out way more.
He went upstairs and slumped into his chair and spaced out. The scenes he’d just watched on TV replayed over and over in his mind.
“Zachary.” Joseph pushed the door open and stepped inside. “What just happened? Why did Edith lock Gavin up?”
Zachary, feeling guilty and annoyed, shot back, “It’s grown–up stuff. None of your business. Just go to bed, or you’ll end up short forever.”
“Alright,” Joseph mumbled.
Just as he was about to leave, he caught sight of a math workbook lying on Zachary’s desk.
He thought, ‘Seriously? Zachary’s been studying math behind my back? That’s so unfair. He’s gonna get way

ahead of me!‘
Joseph walked over and picked up the workbook. “Zachary, when did you get this? Why didn’t you tell me?”
But before he could even peek at the first page, Zachary snatched it out of his hands. “Who said you could mess with my stuff? Get out!”
“You’re so stingy! What’s wrong with me just taking a look? I don’t like you anymore,” Joseph huffed.
Then he stomped out, slamming the door behind him.

Zachary let out a breath of relief and flipped open the book in his hands. Just a moment ago, his heart had been pounding as he looked at it, but now, all he felt was disgust.
He thought, ‘If Joseph had seen that, I’d seriously want to kill myself. Wait…
He was suddenly stunned. He wondered, ‘Am I acting just like Edith right now?‘
He knew he wasn’t exactly the model big brother, but he genuinely cared about Joseph. If he ever caught someone showing Joseph this kind of crap, he’d probably tear them to pieces.
Edith’s angry reaction earlier was actually perfectly justified. Even if he hadn’t intended for things to end up this way, he knew he’d still watched it. He owed Edith an apology.
Zachary walked over and saw Edith’s door firmly closed. He hesitated and then decided to wait until
tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Edith sat at her desk, eyes fixed on her computer screen as hundreds of search results popped up. She scrolled through them at lightning speed.
Teenage boys were hardwired to be curious about this stuff. If their parents forcibly clamped down and kept them away, they’d just get even more rebellious–maybe even sneak around their parents‘ backs and cross the line one day.
Trying to shut this stuff out never worked. It was way more effective to just lay everything out in the open and have an older male relative do the talking. It’d get twice the results for half the effort.
Edith let out a long sigh. She couldn’t count on her deadbeat dad at all. He’d just hang Zachary up and give him a beating.
But she was a girl, anyway. Just picturing herself having this kind of talk with her little brother was embarrassing as hell.
But honestly, there wasn’t any suitable adult man around her that she could turn to for help.
Edith really didn’t know what to do.
While Edith was upstairs, wrestling with her thoughts, Hallie stepped out of her room. She’d been buried in her studies, headphones on, memorizing vocabulary words, but she’d still caught some noise from outside.
Hallie frowned as she looked downstairs. It was already eleven o’clock, and the servants were still up.

Chapter 119
Normally, when their parents weren’t home, only one servant would in on duty at this hour. Having so marry of them still awake was seriously weird.
Hallie asked, “What happened!”
One of the servants whispered, “Ms. Loven, Mr. Young was shut up in the attic by Ms. Edith Loven
Hallie’s expression instantly changed. She glanced up and saw Cody sitting like a guard by the stairs leading from the third to the fourth floor, making sure nobody could get through.
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier?” Hallie demanded.
The servants looked helpless. Karen told them that no one was allowed to disturb Edith while she was studying, so they didn’t dare say a word.
They’d even tried calling Karen, but her assistant answered and said she was busy.
Hallic marched straight for the attic, but Cody jumped to his feet. “Sorry, Ms. Lovett, but you can’t go upstairs.”
Hallie gritted her teeth. “Move away!”
Cody blocked her way with a stiff arm. “No one goes up except Ms. Edith Lovett.”
“Edith isn’t the only one who gets a say in this house,” Hallie snapped, her face sullen with fury. “I’m saying this one more time. Move way!”
Cody stood firm. “I’m only here to take orders from Ms. Edith Lovett. You’d better go to bed now, Ms. Hallie Lovett,”
“Mmmph!” came Gavin’s muffled, desperate sounds from upstairs.
Hallie clenched her fists hard. She spun around, marched straight to Edith’s door on the third floor, and started pounding on it. “Edith, open up! Open the door, now.”
Just then, all three doors along the hallway swung open at once.
Edith shot a glance at her two younger brothers next door and said flatly, “This has nothing to do with you. two. Shut your doors, put your headphones on, and get to bed.”
“Okay!” Joseph replied right away and slammed his door shut.
Zachary looked like he wanted to say something, but in the end, he just quietly closed his door as well. But he didn’t bother with the headphones, hoping to catch whatever was happening outside.
“Why the hell did you lock Gavin up, Edith? Are you out of your mind?” Hallie yelled, her voice almost cracking with anger. “I’m telling you–let him out, right now! Did you hear me?”
Hallie was fuming, but Edith just stayed calm. A mocking smile showed up on her face.
Edith said, “Do you even know what he did?”
