Revenge served in a black dress (Nora and Jace) novel Chapter 14

Nora left the pack directly after Jace. He’d seen her walk down the stairs with her suitcase and frowned at her, held his hand up to her and then put in a call to her former Alpha right there, told him that Hora was on her way to his pack and would be leaving shortly. And asked if he could watch for her arrival, as he couldn’t go with her, and if she wasn’t there within 5 hours, to send out a search party and call him directly.

She didn’t even know why he bothered, but he must have gotten an affirmative because he then thanked her former Alpha, before hanging up. Then he looked at her and stated, Alpha Clayton is expecting you.and she realized he was just keeping tabs on her. She’d just nodded, she had nothing to hide, she wasn’t the bad guy in their ****dup mate bond.

Her leaving, like he did, was just because a big part of her didn’t want to be inside Jace’s pack if she no

longer had to be. He wasn’t even concerned that it was being left without leadership because his Luna was

still in the pack, comfortably seated as always. She didn’t belong here and so would no longer be inside it if

she didn’t have to be.

The past

few days, Gloria made sure she waved that Luna card about, seemed to just turn up everywhere

Nora went, and announced merrily T’ll pay, use my Luna Card. She’d even managed to say it once in earshot of Jace, and he’d not so much as batted an eyelid. To which Gloria had smiled right at her, knew he wouldn’t Clearly, he’d not thought it might hurt her to hear those very words, even after all that had gone down with

that invitation

to

Gloria just smiled at her knowingly all the time, even when she wasn’t doing anything on purpose annoy

her, knew that her mere existence in that office with that title showed Nora exactly where she belonged, or didn’t belong. So, getting out of the pack for even a few days would be a blessing, just not having to think

about it, or know she would run into Gloria would see her relax and just be able to be herself.

It was nice to be home and spend time just hanging out with her family and friends, and although she tried to keep Jace out of the conversation, she couldn’t and so had to play the card of Jace being a nice Mate. She had to smile when they brought him up and talk about him. She’d not liked that, but wouldn’t be seen as one that couldn’t gain her own Mate’s love to those that knew her.

She didn’t want to appear to be naïve or stupid either, not when she was studying engineering and would then go on to do her masters and then study Architecture as well. She not only wanted to design a building but be able to build it as well. She would be worth her weight in gold at some point in her life, after she left

and rejected the man that was her Mate.

Nora was unconcerned about being at university for so very long. They had very long lives, and she could live on campus to finish out her engineering degree and then pick up a job doing that while studying architecture, or just stay on campus fulltime for that as well. She was undecided, and it would also depend on scholarships and money.

She’d finally gotten the notification of switching her degree from online to inperson at the campus itself. That was a relief. She even had a movein date. Although that had disappointed her, it was just a few days prior to the next semester starting.

Rosa had appeared inside her mind nearly instantly as they’d left that pack, and she was happy to be out of her and running about with her mother and father her new sister Wolf, on the full moon. Rosa, it seemed, had

no issue with ripping out of her here inside this pack, and interacting with everyone here. It was just in Jace’s pack she didn’t want to be.

Something he now knew was likely going to be his own fault, all the times he’d touched Gloria, and they’d felt it, was the cause of her wolf’s disappearance, not that she’d told him that verbally, but surely he wasn’t so dumb as to not know it. Had figured it out or his wolf had, and that was why he’d stopped touching Gloria this past week. He had realized it was likely killing her wolf, and he needed Rosa to make sure the heir he

wanted wasn’t wolfless.

Nora opted to stay for a few more extra days past the full moon because she was able to fully relax here with her family, sleep in a comfortable bed and not have to concern herself with her Mate touching her in any way, shape or form.

And although she took a call from Jace himself when he got back to the pack and realized or was told, she thought that she wasn’t there. It was late that night, and she’d still not come back to the pack as he’d so clearly expected her to. She’d answered it simply with I’m just visiting my parents,” but then had added as an afterthought Or aren’t I allowed to do that?

He’d muttered something about her being rude and that it was seen as being disrespectful of him; her not informing him, her own Mate and Alpha, of her plans not to come home on time. To which she’d looked at her phone in her hand, she had stared at the screen. She’d never told him when she was coming back, that was

something in his head.

But for him to have the hide to state that she was disrespectful of him as her Mate? That was a f*****g joke, she’d hit the red circle, that was the end call button and hung up, as she thought yes, just like you have been to me every f*****g dayAnd had then turned her phone off, so he couldn’t call her back.

Let him be mad and feel frustrated by her, tick him off and push him into the arms of Gloria while she was in her home pack. That would work for her. She could swing that to her liking, demand when he came to collect her or apologize to her, after Alpha Clayton heard about it, that he dismiss the shewolf holding the Luna title and get rid of Gloria from the pack, banish her, so that Nora could see her way to trying to forgive him and go back to him. Make that Mate and Alpha of hers choose between her and Gloria in front of everyone here.

Three days

days and there was still nothing he wasn’t going to risk outing his behavior to her family or her former Alpha either, and she couldn’t keep putting off going back to his pack. Even her sister had looked at her with an odd look over her still being there. It had been six days, and she had no more excuses, so she bid farewell to them, and headed back to the pack and her miserable life.

Though arriving back inside his pack, and it was his, not theirs, had seen Rosa just vanish to the back of her mind once more, Gone the moment they crossed the pack border, her wolf’s stance on being here was very

clear to Nora.

As she’d driven her car up the main road, she’d seen that Jace was out there standing waiting for her on the packhouse front stairs, and she could see the annoyed bordering on angry look on his face, and that had actually brought a real smile to her face as she looked at it.

She had managed to tick the man off, it seemed, to the point that he’d come out here to yell at her. He thought she was a push over, and he’d be able to control her because she dealt with all his betrayal without saying anything and was still here with him.

But she was not. He just didn’t seem to know that she was already plotting inside her mind, on the best way to leave him; she was just biding her time. He was to assured of his power over her, because the stupid mate

bond could see her being pulled into his bed, and she could still be seduced by him, so and nor caizes the op she no longer loved him at all

Sorry the phone battery died, and I left my charger here, she stated casually as she walked us the deg

certain he was unhappy about her lack of picking up the phone to him

I don’t like you being disrespectful to me.he’d stated point blankly

Mm, not many like that. She acknowledged and saw Gloria coming this way Glory’s looking for you?? indicated to the woman glaring at her, glaring at her, she thought, because Jace was out here waiting fo and not paying attention to his mistress. Though that glare was gone, the minute Jace turned to Yes, Gloria?” he asked, and there was a sweet smile on her face

her

It gave Nora the moment she needed to walk away from him with her luggage and head upstairs to ther suite, and be away from him. Gloria still had his full and undivided attention: Nothing had changed inside this pack. She unpacked and sat down in her study room to distract herself from being back here

She only had to finish this semester and complete her final exams, and then she would be gone Her acceptance of oncampus living had been approved. She was only planning on being here until she could move out and into her dorm, not a single second longer

He didn’t come upstairs to tear strips off of her in the privacy of their room, no he only liked to do that in full view of the pack, making her out to irresponsible and childish. She thought that he was laying the groundwork for that rejection he was going to issue. She knew it was going to be very public, with Gloria right there watching on, smiling all smugly as well
