CH 39
Nora
Nora thought about that very thing, and she was certain that if the did that, go rogue without rejecting m tim he would actively sleep with Gloria and really cause her pain. He could do that as often as he wanted the wasn’t inside the pack, because none would hear her cries of pain. To reject him, the had to be standing before him, which meant going back to the pack
She wondered how he’d feel about her stating it first. Would he lash out at her and tell her she couldn’t reject him because he was the Alpha, and she was just a lowly ranked warrior, that she had no rights to do so? She knew it would be seen as disrespectful towards him, and that really ticked him off where she was concerned
She hoped so. She’d just stare at him and likely laugh, uncaring about how he felt, defy him right in front of his pack, and let them see him treat her like a regular pack member, though it wouldn’t be the first time te had done that. But it would show the pack, and she realized any allied Alphas just how he felt about her.
She recalled Alpha Desmond stating he’d not been invited to the Luna Ceremony, and so she guessed that Jace was supposed to do that, or his Allied Alphas were expecting it, to be there for that Ceremony. That was interesting to her. She lay there and thought about it would he risk inviting them when he was uncertain as to how she would react on the day.
She’d not been disturbed out here as she sat by the river. Not once, no one had come to check on her. But she knew that Jace was aware she was out of the pack, because every now and then, she could actively feel him tugging on her pack tether to him. She wondered what he thought of her being outside the pack like this?
Did he think she was going to go rogue and leave him without rejecting him, with nowhere to go? He probably thought she was that stupid. After all, she was just a child in his eyes and children often did stupid things. But she wasn’t actually that stupid.
That would just see her be a rogue, and one that she knew would suffer the full pains of betrayal, whether it would happen prior to the full moon or on the next full moon? She didn’t exactly know, but if she left and went rogue, he would just claim Gloria at that Luna Ceremony, effectively abolishing their mate bond. But the
entire time between now and then would likely be agony for her and her wolf.
She’d also read what happened to those that were still marked, and their mates uncaringly claimed another, without rejecting them. She needed to know what she was in for, because she honestly believed it was going to happen to her at some point. What happened to all those poor creatures, because it wasn’t just wolves; all
other worldly creatures were said to have to suffer the same fate if that happened.
They died nine out of ten times. Their own mark spot would pour black blood from it, until there was no
filigree left. It could take hours, and there was nothing anyone could do to help them or stop it. One would
simply bleed to death in a writhing agony. After all she’d suffered at his hands already, Nora didn’t doubt he
would do that to her.
no, she
He’d likely think it was a fitting punishment for the Mate that left him without his permissic wouldn’t risk herself or her wolf to that fate. She sighed, three weeks was all she had left, and then she was gone from this place, gone from him. She hoped he claimed Gloria after she left, and then Selena saw fit to gift him another, an Alpha female who would be a better, stronger Luna, and she’d stand her ground and want
her Mate.
Teach Gloria a lesson in not thinking it was her right to have someone else’s Mate, Nor was of than Gloria and couldn’t stand up to her. She’d never win a physical fight with her, even if she he an Alpha female could. It would be the ultimate revenge on Gloria to have her become what Hors herse Unwanted and unloved by her own Mate. To have to see him want another uncaring of how she felt
Jace didn’t come out there and find her, or attempt to talk to her at all, and she knew if he could feet her and she him, that she was still within mind–linking range so he could, but likely he’d learned his lesson.
The past few days, the moment she felt him tug on her tether, she’d shut herself off from him, it was actually quite easy to do, because she didn’t have Rosa when inside the pack and all she had to do was accept being wolf–less, and the ability kind of just went away. Nora could also feel that patrolman tugging on his peck tether to her, as well at times, why she didn’t know, it wasn’t like she was the Luna and needed protecting
No, she was just his Mate, and was never going to be his Luna. Even if she accepted that tuns Ceremony, A would just be a complete sham. He was still just going to be the same, nothing would change, only it would be more humiliating to see Gloria still in that office and have the pack call her Luna after the ceremony
A part of her wondered if that was what Gloria wanted, for Nora to suffer even more now that the doctor had told her; no pup for a year. That meant Gloria now had to wait a long time to get what she warte Was this, the Luna Ceremony now finally presented to her, just a way for Gloria to show her she still held all the power?
Have Jace attend the Luna Ceremony only to still cause her pains of betrayal and still keep Gloria in the Luna’s office. She sighed as she felt the tingling pins and needles sensation finally stop, she was healed. She knew Gloria was still sitting in that office even after all that had happened to her, and his seeming concern. Gloria was still the pack’s Luna right this very minute. She pushed herself up and just knew this was more about putting her in her place than anything else.
Nora got up and made her way back to the pack once more, and she felt Rosa start to recede. ‘Come on the full moon Rosa, I’ll deal with our traitorous Mate until then, but together we’ll leave him, extract our revenge upon him and his Luna‘
‘Agreed.‘ Rosa stated and vanished to the depths of her mind once more.
Nora looked at the patrolman as she crossed back into the pack, “See just time to myself,” she stated, and made her way back to her room. She felt much better, no longer did her body ache all over, and no more was there pain anywhere, she was just cold inside and out.
Jace was standing in the packhouse foyer, apparently waiting for her. He wasn’t alone either. His entire unit was with him. “You shouldn’t go off into rogue territory, while…” Jace’s words trailed off as his eyes moved over her, and he realized she was healed. She watched as his unit also looked her over, took in the fact that she was fully heated, and no longer injured at all.
“I’ll go for a walk if I want to,” she stated, and moved on past him. “Or am I not allowed to do that, only do what you tell me to?”
She heard not only him sigh, but all of them sigh, and he muttered “I’ve never told you what to do… Rosa healed you?” he asked, sounding curious to her.
She ignored it and walked up the stairs. It was plainly obvious that her wolf had, otherwise
could she be healed? She didn’t say anything at all, because her wolf was none of his concern. Rosa haddy removed herself to the dark recess of Nora’s mind, had done that the moment before she’d set foot back into his pack

territory.
Rosa didn’t want to and wouldn’t come forward around the man that was their Mate, Rosa’s choice was clem too much betrayal had gone on for far too long, and she no longer wanted to be here. She’d stated what she thought and wanted over the past few hours of Nora being out there in rogue territory.
They were leaving come the full moon, and they would get revenge on that Mate of theirs before leaving. Her beast wasn’t even phased by the thought of it. Wanted it herself. That was how much damage he’d done to them. All they could think about was getting revenge upon him.
She returned to her room and slept until mid–morning, where she found Jace at her door. It was lunchtime and he let himself in. She knew he had a key and could come and go as he pleased. She’d seen it for herself over the past few days. The omegas had let themselves in with a key.
So, there was no point in locking the door anymore. So, she didn’t bother to. He’d smiled at her when he’d seen it wasn’t locked, he had taken it, she believed, as a sign she was going to fall for his so–called apologetic looks and words, that smile of his. What he didn’t or couldn’t understand was that it made her sick to her stomach, to see that fake facade he put on to try and get what he wanted from her. For her to be here for a year in order to get another pup from her. She was just his breeder was all.
