Revenge served in a black dress (Nora and Jace) novel Chapter 38

CH 38

Nora

It was three days later, and Nora didn’t really feel as though she was getting any better at all. She was still covered in bruising and her body ached everywhere. Even just sitting and reading caused her abdomen to give her grief. It was, she realized, much better for her to just lay in her bed.

Though she was very bored doing that, she did actually sleep quite a bit on and off and tonight she’d had enough. As tired and sore as she was, she got herself up and out of bed. It was the wee hours of the night, and the entire pack would be sleeping. So, leaving her room and coming across Jace wasn’t going to be an issue.

She was now just slowly but steadily making her way through the packhouse. She wanted to take the omega stairs but had a feeling they’d just exhaust her completely and her goal for the night wouldn’t happen, so she made her way to the elevator and took it to the ground floor. Where she walked out the front doors and stood

there and breathed in the fresh air, it was nice to be outside.

She made her way to the closest border. The only way to get Rosa to the surface was to actively leave the

pack, and she was over being injured, wanted to be healed up. It would, she knew, give her more peace and

quiet, which she needed, because for some ungoddessly known reason, Jace had decided it was time to pay

her attention.

It seems a neardeath occurrence had either made him realize his Mate was vulnerable to death, and could

have died while she was out of the pack. That he’d not have even known where she was, or what had

happened to her, because he never bothered to care to know where she was. So, now she had omegas in and

out of her room all day.

Offering to assist her with anything she needed. They brought all her meals up to her and asked her if she wanted something. It was quite bothersome, and she’d snapped at one of them today, to just leave her alone. To go and tell the Alpha to not send anyone to her room anymore, she could look after herself. She didn’t

need their or his help.

That poor omega had scurried for the door, and she’d called out to her to wait as the door had opened. The poor woman had turned and faced her, her head all the way day and hands clasped together in a submissive apologetical manner. I’m sorry I yelled at you, it’s not your fault, you did nothing wrong, I’mshe’d sighed. Tired, in pain and just grumpy. I’m not mad at you or any of the omegas. But please do pass on the message.

to the Alpha.”

Yes Nora, she’d stated, and bowed further down before leaving the room. She was taking her annoyance out on the omegas, and they didn’t need that from her, so she apologized, because she’d been in the wrong.

She made her way to the border and found herself looking at a patrolman, he looked over her condition and frowned at her. He could see she was injured. The bruising to her forehead was nearly black due to already having an injury there before hitting the car’s hood, and she knew her face looked utterly territ

Even she knew not many wolves ever looked like she did right now, only those without wolves or that had been beaten so badly over so many years that their wolves couldn’t sustain healing them properly. Usually, it

was seen on omegas or slaves in unhealthy packs.

Both her bare arms also had bruising and were starting to scab over where she had hit the ground and rolled

over a few times, and had gravel rash. There was nothing she could do about it. Her hesting wat slaw an she had to do it the human way without Posa and her wigt was not tweet ing inside his pack.

The patrolman had kind of just stared at her uncomprehending of her current state as the leaned on a ter He’d watched her walk this way, slowly, steadily, and she stopped at times to take in a breath was many kilometers out here to the border, and although she’d used a path and made her walk easier, it was exhausting her. She looked at him. “I just need some time to myself she told him.

She’d seen him debate it as she walked past him, right along the river’s edge that out through part of the

pack and then wound out into rogue territory. She didn’t care what he thought, not really. She just needed to get out of the pack for herself to check on Rosa and this was the only way

Nora had walked along that river for about 10 minutes and then just sat down on a large flat rock and dangled her bare feet in the water. It was lovely and cool, and she’d felt Rosa come forth and look abost,

knew they were no longer inside the pack. She wasn’t even in sight of it right now

Though it could be smelled from there, and when she twitched her ears, her hearing could pick up the movement of that border patrol man walking along the border, Rosa turned Nora’s head to look in the direction she knew it to be, and couldn’t see it. We’re about a kilometer from the border She told her wolf

No one stopped us from leaving.”

Rosa settled inside her mind, once realizing they were no longer in the pack, and likely far enough away from it, for her to disappear if someone she didn’t want to smell or come across headed this way. The wind was blowing in her direction, and they’d scent any pack member coming long before they saw them.

Nora felt the tingling pins and needle sensation of being healed kicking in. It’ll take a while, Rosa stated to her softly, as she lay down inside her mind. I’ll keep an ear out for rogues?

Nora had just nodded Alright.’ was her only response. A part of her wondered if it would matter at all if a rogue found her, she’d not have the strength to fight them off. Didn’t even know if she had the inclination to

either right that minute.

Do you know what happened?’ Nora asked her wolf curiously, she’d felt Rosa’s pain that day.

Pup destroyed.Rosa stated, Didn’t know we were pregnant.

Me either.’ had been Nora’s only reply For the best, don’t you think, we don’t need an attachment to him like that.she’d sighed to herself and laid down on that rock to just stare up at the starry night sky Gloria told me, he would take it from us, and he and her would raise it together, he’d force us to give it up and then finally reject me. We’re just a breeder is all and nothing more, she told Rosa, who’d not been there for that

conversation.

She felt pain wash over her own beast, but there was no fight left in her. She didn’t even try to defend her Mate and say he would never do that. Something most wolves would do: They were loyal to each other. Rosa had no faith or trust in her Alpha Wolf Mate; she didn’t want to be anywhere near him.

When are we leaving for good?Rosa asked after some time.

Nora sighed On the full moon, Jace has decided it’s time, after we nearly died, to hold a Lunc

emony for

  1. us. We’ll leave him with the Moon Goddess watching on. I’ll not accept the ceremony or his faked words of

love and devotion.’

Will it hurt him, or will he not care?Rosa asked.

‘I honestly don’t know, but i think his wolf has realized with our near death experience what we actually are. Likely they both could have felt it, how close a call it was, and his wolf is pushing him to do this I seriously doubt Jace actually cares at all. I only ever acknowledge him if I have to now, and as the Alpha, I have relinquished my right to be his equal. He found that out the hard way

What do you mean?Rosa asked her curiously

He rolled his Aura over me, and I was bowed down to him in an instant. She reached up and touched her forehead. This bruise and wound are from him. Where my head cracked the floor and I sustained a

concussion.

He doesn’t love you at all, Rosa whispered sadly. No loving mate would ever do that?

No, they wouldn’t, only one that didn’t care. Nora agreed. But now it’s weird, he’s trying to be attentive, so maybe with what happened and how I currently look. It has made both of them understand what we are or should be on some level. I don’t know, to be honest, Rosa he tells me he’s sorry and wants to try and bring us back together.

I don’t want that,Rosa stated simply. It’s too late for us to forgive him after months of pain.

I agree, I’m, however, going to let him think it will work, not leave until the full moon, and when we go, it’ll be before the entire pack, and I’ll make them see the truth of who he is. How cruel he is and that he does not care for what the Goddess gifted to him.

And her, what does she get?’ Rosa asked and there was anger in her wolf’s voice as she spoke of the shewolf that hurt them, and got away with it at every turn.

I don’t know yet. I’ll find a way to hurt them both. We’ll get revenge on both of them. I just need to sort it cut. I’ve got time. It’s been only 5 days since the last full moon,’ she told her wolf.

Nora stayed out there by the river, just staring up at the stars, for most of the night, until she was all healed up. It took several hours, and she sighed at the thought of having to return, but if she just went rogue and walked away she’d still be bound to that Alpha.
