Nora
She watched Jace walk into her room once more. This time he was pushing a rack of dresses, and then he stood there and looked at her. “I’d like you to choose something for your Luna Ceremony, he stated
She nearly laughed at the words ‘your Luna ceremony, “Hmm, I believe I’m too childish to have one of those
she stated, and turned back to her studies.
“Nora, I was angry that day.” He sighed.
“Mm, I’m aware you were angry with me, you are, 90% of the time, because I’m childish about everything” She nodded. “Do you have to come in here all the time? I’d prefer you didn’t at all. Go and be with Gloria, she’s
your Luna. I’m certain you’d rather spend time with her.”
“That is not true, and if you’d stop being…” his words trailed off suddenly.
Her eyes moved right towards him, as she realized he was about to call her childish, and she barely held in the nasty smile as she looked at him, “Being childish.” She finished his sentence for him, and saw him finch, because she knew she’d hit the nail squarely on the head.
He still saw her as being childish when he was the one who was dishonest, and in love with someone else,
causing her and Rosa to feel pains of betrayal for months on end. She wasn’t childish, she was over it, and had made the hard decision was all, and now he didn’t like her reaction to everything he’d put her through. Now that she was finally willing to show it to him and not ignore it all the time.
He probably thought she should be falling at his feet now that he’d decided after all these months that he wanted her. It wasn’t going to get him what he wanted. He would never ever have her again. “So, you still
think that. That I’m the one in the wrong. Well Alpha, you can take those dresses and f**k off.”
His eyes widened at her course words, but she no longer cared at all, “Clearly still not worthy in your eyes to have a Luna Ceremony, am I? Because I’m still just a child who throws a tantrum. Well, I don’t want one
anymore. So…” she waved a hand at the door. “Get out.”
“Why can’t you just talk to me normally? We clearly need to sort this out, Nora,” he muttered.
“Why do I need to? You should know what you did to me, you were the one that did it.” she rolled her eyes. Clearly you see nothing wrong with your own actions.” She shook her head, “You’re the Alpha to this pack, and I guess you can do and say whatever you please, and just expect everyone, including me, to suck it up be all forgiving. Well, I was raised differently than you, I guess.”
She could feel his eyes were on her, and she could feel he was annoyed with her. There was that temper that showed her she was starting to get to him. “I was raised to respect the Mate Bond, especially in front of others. Words between Mates should be behind closed doors, not out in public for all to hear.” She murmured. “Not something you do at all.”
“I didn’t disrespect you first.” he snapped. “And Mate’s fight.”
“Really?” she leaned back on the couch and looked at those dresses pointedly, before turning her eyes upon him. “Where’s Gloria right this minute?”
“I don’t know,” he shrugged. “I don’t keep track of her.”
CH43
“Hmm.” She pulled on that tether that was his Luns and felt for her verestrets, downstairs in the Lund’s office. “Your Luna, is in her office,” she stated. “If you want to discuss a Luna Ceremony, then i suggest you d so with your Luna. That is not me. It was never my title. I’m just something you enjoy fucking” She shrugged, then snorted amusingly. “Well, you did enjoy it, can’t anymore.” She shook her head.
He was frowning at her now. “I’ve told her to step down today” he stated.
“Oh, did you!” she didn’t believe that at all.
“Yes.” He stated, “She’s not the Luna anymore.”
“Hmm, she’s still in the office. Why do you continue to lie to me? To the entire pack. Why did you bother to accept me at all?” she asked the question she really did want an answer to “when you had, and have, no intention of being a loving, respectful Mate.” She shook her head. “You should have just rejected me. You should have claimed Gloria decades ago seeing she is the one you want.”
“You’re my Goddess–Gifted, I won’t accept anything else. That is, you” he told her.
“Yes, I was gifted to you,” she muttered. “Wish I bloody wasn’t, then I wouldn’t have to suffer your cruelty.”
“I have never laid a hand on you,” he grated out.
“Hmm,” she touched her forehead, “one like you, doesn’t have to touch another, your Aura is enough to harm one, is it not? The way you ignore me and be with Gloria, choose her at every turn is that not considered cruel. She attacked me, and you saw it with your own eyes, yet you stood by her. She touched you and caused me pains of betrayal. Your cruelty and disrespect towards me knows no bounds. Because you love her, your
Luna. Not me, your Mate, so I guess that’s why you don’t see it as disrespectful.” She laid it all out for him.
He was staring at her. “I am here now, standing before you, Nora, desperately trying to show you I’m sorry, trying to get you to talk to me, tell me what you want me to do so I can do it, and you’re cold and indifferent
won’t even give me a chance to prove I can change and be a good Mate.”
“Why would I believe you? Your word is no good. All I am to you is a breeder, your Goddess–Gifted Mate, here
to give you an Heir is all, one that you’ll take away from me and raise with Gloría, reject me after I have it and banish me from the pack. Gloria told me everything.” She shook her head. “All your plans for me.”
He was frowning deeply now at her, but he said nothing. “I guess Alpha, you didn’t count on your Luna telling
me your and her plans, showing me just how cruel you really are. She likely did it, so I would leave, and she
could go back to having you. You can just reject me any time you like, and you can then go and crawl into
Gloria’s bed, where you want to be,” she told him.
“There you wanted to know, wanted me to tell you. Now you have it.” and she was cold and indifferent
because she no longer cared. That should now be clear to him. He said nothing, just stood there staring at
her like he couldn’t believe what she’d said.
“Oh, what did I get it right?” she half laughed when he still didn’t say anything, still just stood there, trying,
she thought, to find a way to say it wasn’t the truth of the matter when it was. “You Jace are a lying ck of s**t,” she snarled at him, daring to insult him, and she saw it, his anger and annoyance as his eyes
on her.
Lened
“Go ahead, roll your aura at me again, punish me like you’re always so willing to do, but never willing to punish her, not even for attacking me. Because we both know, you’ve never done that before, have you?” she sneered at him, dripping sarcasm, “Yes, you’ve never disrespected me or harmed me without due cause, bull,
< CH 43 f*****g shit.”
She saw him blink at the realization of how he was reacting to her, and then she watched him rein in his temper. “Do you want to know, do you even care why I was upset that day with you? After you destroyed my phone, again something I believe is disrespectful. So that’s what now?
“1 I’m childish. 2 You have a Luna already and don’t care how I feel about that. 3 You never announced me as your Luna, just your Mate. 4 You destroyed my personal property, which cut off my contact with my family. There are no landline phones in this pack. 5 told me in front of your allies, your unit and your Luna; you have and want, that I won’t be getting a Luna Ceremony at all.
“6 You rolled your aura at me, for what… ah, me being childish. 7 You made me bow to you so low that I was injured by you. There are several more I could rattle off. Do you want me to keep going, or is that enough, of you showing me just how much you respect me, and that you think a dress will fix everything?”
He was just standing there staring at her now, “Yes, I’m keeping track.” She nodded. “Do you know what all this has done to me? How it’s made not only me feel?…” she looked at him. “I’m practically wolf–less right now, so… who do you think is responsible for my wolf not wanting to be here, inside this pack with her Mate? “Oh, of course, that must be me and my childishness. Not you, not what you’ve done to her. You’re so f*****g perfect and loving, caring and sweet that Rosa just fled away from you, left me because…” she stared at him now, pointedly so.
“Do the f*****g math and open your eyes to your own mistakes. You might be the Alpha to this pack, but you’re the one that hurt my wolf every f*****g day, by touching that she–wolf downstairs or letting her touch you, to the point Rosa couldn’t take it anymore.” She snarled at him. “Get out unless you want to reject me.”
He was gone from the room after only a moment of staring at her, banged right out of the suite. What did he think was going to happen after months of betrayal? He might never have actually f****d that she–wolf, but he touched her every damned day, and she’d had to feel it.
