She sat in het room and felt Jace connect a mind–link to her. She’d tried to push it from herself like shed

done so many times before over the past few days, not wanting that man inside her head. But he as the

Alpha, was she knew, forcing it to actually open and stay connected to her, and she had his undivided

attention. It was just her and him, there was no one else attached to it that she could sense at this particular

moment in time.

He wasn’t willing, it seemed, to let her reject the connection, and she wondered just how much effort he was actually putting into it, because she was fighting damned hard against it herself, and had been for many minutes now. Her sole focus was on trying to stop it, and she could feel that it wasn’t just Jace, but Hydro as well. It made her realize he’d allowed her to disconnect all the previous ones to her.

Only to feel Matt connect himself to her, after about three or four minutes of thern fighting each other, and trying to roll his Gamma Charm down the mind–link at her as well, she snarled right at him and the intrusion into her mind. Matt got through easily because she was so bloody focused on fighting the Alpha, and in the

end she lost the battle of wills.

Rosa had felt the struggle and actually come forward to aid her, so that their will to make her not listen to

Jace, was much stronger than just her own. To which Matt had latched right on to her beast and Rosa had

been subdued by him after several minutes, she’d not been able to recede with that Gamma attached to her

mind.

The link had been fully established by Jace, and he had tight control of it, and then she could feel others in

the pack being connected to that mind–link. He’d opened a full pack–wide mind–link. Though she had been the

first one he’d tried to open it to, now she knew why, so the pack wouldn’t feel them and their struggle against each other, or her snarling at him or the pack Gamma. He didn’t want the entire pack to know about their

battle of wills.

Though she suspected that many of them or maybe even all of them were now feeling the annoyance and

anger coming from her at the intrusion into her mind; just how bad it was between them, and that they really

didn’t get along.

‘I, your Alpha, have an announcement to make; I have stepped Gloria down as the acting Luna to the pack. As I will be holding Nora’s Luna Ceremony on the next full moon. Any and all Luna duties right at this moment

will be delayed unless they are of the utmost importance, until after Nora has been instated on the upcoming

full moon.

‘I will personally attend to those things that need doing. Please direct any inquiries to myself or my unit. Nora is currently going through a hard time, as you are all aware. She nearly died last week, and we lost our first

pup and heir to the pack. Please be considerate of her feelings and emotions and bring all matters to me,

until she is comfortable attending Luna’s Duties for the pack.’

He cut the link finally, and she rolled her eyes. Yes, blame it all on the loss of the pup. Make it out sh grieving, when in fact that was not it at all. He couldn’t even tell his own pack the truth of the matter, he’d betrayed her at every turn. That his own actions were killing her wolf. No, he was too cowardly to face the pack and tell them what an asshole he was.

Well, she wasn’t. She would tell them all and out him for his betrayal. Her eyes were on thos hanging on the racks, and that revenge she wanted and had been formulating inside her mind, ens place. Hold the Luna Ceremony, let’s just see who has the last laugh?

She walked over there and perused the dresses. She’d seen what he’d picked originally, that skin tight champagne–colored mermaid dress that was all blinged out. And as she went through the rack there ande nothing like that on there, but there was a fitted satin sheath, champagne colored dress with some

embroidery over the bodice and a sashed waist line. It had a similar neckline to the one he’d picked out if would suit Gloria nicely, she thought to herself and nodded. It didn’t matter that it was one size too big, it had a ribbon to pull it tight to the body it would fit her.

Nora hung it on the front of the rack, so the next time he came in here, to her room, he would think she’d

picked out a dress after his announcement. That she was happy with him dropping Gloria from her position and was willing to start coming around to being his Mate once more.

Then she sat down on the ground and perused the internet as she tried to figure out just what type of dress she was going to wear, her idea of the dress she was going to leave this pack in, something that would suit

the mood she would set.

It would be black, to symbolize the ending of their mate bond. She would make it beautiful, and she would look utterly stunning in it. She shopped online at local stores in the city, so she could go and pick it up

herself.

She didn’t have much money left to her name but would find something suitable for her budget. There were

quite a few for her to choose from. It seemed black wasn’t a bad color even for weddings, though the prices

varied and most she wasn’t going to be able to afford.

She looked at her phone when it rang a few hours later, and smiled; it was her mother. She answered it and

then frowned as she heard her mother state Jace had just called her to let them know her Luna Ceremony

was going to be on the upcoming full moon, and he’d invited them, including her little sister, to come for it.

He’d told them that he thought Nora herself would like to have them there for it.

“Don’t come.” She stated flatly after hearing her mother talk excitedly about it for several minutes. “It’s not

what he says it is.”

“What? Nora, what is going on? You’ve been off for months.” her mother sighed.

“He doesn’t love me,” she sighed now herself, as she leaned her head back on the couch and stared up at the

ceiling. It was time to tell the truth.

There was silence on the other end of the phone for a long time. “Nora?” her mother asked softly, and she

could hear the concern in her voice.

“It was all a lie, everything,” she told her, “And it was all of five weeks before I found out the truth, and not

even two months in, and he was touching another. Don’t come.”

“Nora,” her mother exclaimed, sounding mortified. “Are you alright?” she could hear the real concern now in

her mother.

“No, Rosa is gone, won’t come forward at all. Buried from the pain of our mate’s betrayals. I’m n stay here. That ceremony he’s planning, with Gloria, I imagine, because that’s who he’s in love wi tailored to her, not me. I am his Mate, but I will never be his Luna. I’m just here because I’m his Goddess–Gifted, and it makes him stronger.” She murmured.

“Honey, I’m sorry.” Her mother sighed.

“So am I,” she muttered. “I should have known when he told me he’d had a Luna for 60 years, but I was blinded by the mate bond love bubble, that I didn’t see it.” and it was the truth she had been blinded by exactly that. Every touch had been amazing, every kiss and the s*x, it had sucked her in really good

“I’m not staying here with him. I’m leaving him. I just need a bit more time, the accommodation at university is sorted out. I’ll go live there on campus. It’s approved for next semester. I tried to get something sooner, bus the university couldn’t fit me into a dorm now. I can move in, in a few weeks. I’m only staying until then, she

told her.

“Your father is going to lose it when I tell him.” Her mother muttered.

“Don’t bother, I’m not living with Jace anymore. I moved out before the last full moon. Don’t come and don’t do anything to let him know you know. I’m going to leave him the night of that ceremony, out him to his pack and leave him standing there under the full moon with Selena watching, as his Goddess–Gifted tells everyone he’s in love with another, has betrayed me with her so many times.”

“Sweetheart, just reject him and come home now.” her mother implored her.

“No, I am going to hurt him like he hurt me. I want to see him and his wolf broken, like they broke Rosa, and then I’m going to leave, and I will make something of myself, and show him just how strong I am, and what he truly lost. That I am more than just something he can f**k and have produce an heir. Think because he’s an Alpha that he can have everything he wants, regardless of who it hurts.”

She heard her mother sigh at her use of profanity but didn’t really care. “I’m currently looking for a dress to wear to that very ceremony. I will leave him and this pack in style, looking my absolute best.”

“Your father and I will send you the money to help you leave then.” She stated, “How much do you need for that dress?”

“I don’t know yet, but everything I’m looking at is about 1500 to 2000. A bit high but…”

“Don’t you concern yourself with it, honey. I’ll send enough money to get you a dress and live at the university. Your father and I will say nothing and let you exit your mate bond as you see fit.” She heard her mother huff. We thought something was always off after that first month you were there. You never wanted to talk about your Luna Ceremony or could tell us when it was going to be, and you started avoiding talking about Jace. Changed the topic a lot after that first month of being there. I guess now I know why. We hoped it wasn’t going to be something like this.”

“So did I.” Nora muttered. “But I can’t change it… no, I don’t want to… I just want to have it ended my way and not his. Live my life the way I see fit from now on. So that is what I’m doing,” she told her mother. The truth was out, and she was glad her mother and father didn’t see her as stupid, were going to support her in her decision to leave her Mate, an Alpha to a pack.
