love with her.
CH 62
Nora
She’d nearly lost her cool last night when Jace had tried to touch her in the very same way she
touch Gloria. She had to get up and walk away, or she’d have rejected him on the spot. She
he would think it was appropriate to touch her like that.
She’d banged into her suite and told herself to remain calm, stood there and breathed long steadyings breaths. She didn’t want that man touching her in any way, though as she stood there she suppo point she was probably going to have to let him in order to extract her revenge.
If she kept pushing him away like she had done just now downstairs, he’d likely just reject her before
could come into fruition. She didn’t want that. That man had to suffer a world of pain and so did that
she–wolf he loved.
She already had plenty of scars from being here, and they needed a few too. Both her hands and feet an thanks to that car accident, the tiny wound she’d gotten from Jace on her forehead had not healed property either and so there was now a small pockmark–like scar in the middle of her forehead
She also had that one low on her abdomen from the surgical procedure she’d had, and though she’d left the
pack to have Rosa heal her in the end, those sutures had been knitted and there was now a thin scar as after
reminder of what had happened.
She woke up this morning and gotten dressed and then walked downstairs to get breakfast, knowing Jace would be off attending training, only to see him in the dining room; that was odd. He looked at her and smiled a little tentatively she thought, though she could see he was dressed to go to the office in the city
“Morning Nora,” he stated, “would you like coffee?” he asked.
“No, thank you, I’ll have tea.” She replied simply.
“How do you have it?” he asked, and she saw him reach for a cup. He was going to make it for her, it seemed,
he’d not even hesitated to ask her how she drank it. Even with all the pack members in here this morning, and
there were quite a few.
“With milk, no sugar.” She answered him, and he nodded; she walked over and got herself two pieces of toast and plated up scrambled eggs and a couple of slices of grilled tomato on it. She could feel he was watching what she was doing, and just knew he was trying to learn what she liked to eat.
She didn’t eat a great deal anymore, not having a wolf, she wasn’t always hungry, and couldn’t graze all day, like he or anyone else here could. She turned to walk away and find a table, only to find Gloria sitting watching them, from not far away, already had a plate of food in front of her, and she wasn’t wearing all that much; gym gear, from what Nora could tell.
She’d come to a halt at the sight of her and saw that woman smile at her, tip her cup to her even, before sipping it, and she nearly put her plate down and walked away, but in reality, this was what she’d been putting up with for months now. She just turned and walked the other way as she had always done, only to find the Alpha Unit’s mates, walking between the tables themselves, towards her.
Again, she stopped, and wondered what the hell was wrong with this pack this morning. She and bowed her head as any good pack member would, and turned away to find Jace staring at hot his se

She watched him bang the plate he’d been holding, down on to the table and snart. She moved away at several gasps went through the room. She sat herself down quickly as though she was a good near member and getting out of the way of a potential fight brewing
“Are you all so f*****g rude?” He grated out as she watched him put her cup of tea gently down on the buffet table.
“Alpha?” his own Beta’s Mate, Marcia, asked questioningly, not understanding what they’d done wrong.
“My Mate just bowed down to you, when it should be the other way around, what the hell is wrong with you? he snarled.
She saw all three of them frown and look around. It took a good 10 seconds for all of them to land eyes on her. They, however, had all turned and looked at Gloria before her, and she knew in that instance who they thought he was talking about.
She watched Marcia, Mark’s Mate open her mouth to say something as she stared at Nora, then snap her mouth shut. Only to have Jace grab her by the wrist and fling her towards Nora. “****g apologize.” He roared into the room. “All of you.”
She sat and watched a little shocked by his behavior as all three of them kind of just stared at her for a moment, and then they just bowed their heads “My apologies, Nora.” They all stated in unison.
“Address her as is her Goddess–given right, something you don’t seem to see. Luna Nora.” He grated out. “Or be lashed for disrespecting my Mate and Luna.”
All of their heads whipped around, he was threatening to lash his own unit’s Mates, that wasn’t going to go down so well. “We’re very sorry, Luna Nora, we did not see you,” Marcia stated and bowed her head once
more.
“Accepted,” she stated, and turned to her meal. She didn’t really want to see them get lashed, they had simply, for the past few months, followed their own Alpha’s lead. Technically, it wasn’t their fault. He placed her cup
of tea in front of her and sat down a moment later with his own breakfast.
“I’m sorry, Nora, for the blatant disrespect I see the pack gives you, even those who are supposed to be your own unit,” He muttered.
She didn’t really understand that; they were Gloria’s unit, they knew that. Gloria knew that, hell, everyone
inside this pack knew that. They were always seen together. Though they weren’t the women that were always with Gloria when she was parading herself about as the Luna, waving that card around that she now
knew wasn’t hers at all.
“It’s just what they’re used to,” she shrugged.
“Why did you step back and bow to them?” he sighed. “You should never have to do that to anyone inside this
pack,” he muttered.
Her eyes moved past him and right towards Gloria, and she saw him turn and see what she was looking at, and heard him sigh a little on the heavy side, “Do you really want me to answer that here?” she asked.
“No,” he murmured, understanding what she was implying, and turned back to his meal. “Un has to eat here, there are no cooking facilities in the single dorms.” He muttered. “Perhaps, we should eat at a different time.”

“Why?” she asked. “Does it bother you, that she doesn’t…”
“No,” he cut her off. “I’m concerned you might be uncomfortable.” He sighed and looked at her. “I don’t want that.”
She shrugged. “I ate in here all the time, just down the back of the room by myself.” she stated honestly, “No one cared.”
He was staring at her now and there was more guilt right there on his face, because she knew he’d never even noticed that she was in the room with them, when they all ate and had to see them all together as the Alpha and Luna plus their units. Or that she ate by herself and no one thought to comment on it. They didn’t say anything because it was plainly obvious, she didn’t belong here.
“I’m sorry.” He murmured “I truly am.”
“Hmm, what’s done is done.” She shrugged uncaring. She knew Gloria was listening to them, listening to Jace apologize, and acting very much like he was her Mate, and trying to win her over, because that’s what he was doing. She, however, wasn’t really giving anything to him, answered his questions simply, honestly, but there was no affection in her words.
“Are you still going to Zelda’s boutique to get shoes?” he asked.
“Mm, if that is what you want?” she asked in return.
“I do,” he nodded. “Anything you like, Zelda will charge it to my account.”
“Alright.” She nodded herself “Your schedule?” she asked, and saw him smile at her, wanting to know it. It wasn’t that at all, it was simply that she wanted to know how long inside this pack she had without him in it.
But he could believe whatever he wanted.
“I’ll be going shopping this morning to buy your Luna/gift. I’ve spent all night looking at things and think I’ve managed to get something not only beautiful, but perfectly matches your dress as well,” he smiled. “It will show everyone not only who I love, but how much as well.”
She raised an eyebrow at him, but said nothing at all.
“Nora, while you’re at Zelda’s you should look at buying some other clothes, kit out your wardrobe, or I could
take you shopping in the city, and you can get whatever you want, from any store you want.”
“It’s not necessary.” She shook her head.
“Yes, it is, your wardrobe barely has anything in it, and I want you to have everything you desire. From now on, if you like something, just order it. I’ll get it for you. I don’t care what it is, if you want it, I want you to have it. On that note, I’ll go and buy your car today. It’ll take a few weeks to get here, I imagine. Did you choose a car
and color?”
“I did,” she stated, and showed him the Audi and the color she’d picked. He took a picture of it with his phone.
“Though I don’t want personalized number plates,” she told him.
“Why not? Everyone has that here” he frowned at her.
“And that is why.” She stated simply, and saw him nod slowly after a moment.
She stood when her meal was finished and watched him do the same. “May I walk you to ? ‘s before I head into the city with my Unit?”

Her eyes moved towards Gloria, and she could see the angry look on the woman’s face and then Jace
stepped right in front of her to block her view. “If she can’t deal with it, she can bloody leave the pack and fes somewhere else to live.” he stated loudly for all to hear.
She heard many gasps going through the dining room. They all seemed to know who he was talking abou Nora looked up at him curiously, that would be a first, him giving any sort of attitude towards Gloria Pleas he stated, and at her nod, he stepped up to her and walked next to her. She felt his hand on the small of her back. “Thank you,” he stated softly.
She didn’t brush his hand away, as much as she didn’t want him touching her at all, she knew he was actually displaying their mate bond for Gloria, as well as those in the dining room, to show them who he’d
chosen.
He wasn’t actively touching her face or bare skin, and as she walked away she didn’t actually think she’d seen him walk like that with Gloria; a hand on the small of her back, as she thought about it, the way they often walked about, it was usually seen that Gloria had a hand through the crook of his arm.
