Jace
He left Nora’s room with her saying she was going to do the meet and greet with him, but still there would be no semblance of bond between them until he did what he should have done all those months ago Pledged his loyalty to her for all to hear and see. She had just laid out everything she expected of him as well. She’d Just shown him that she could be a good, strong Luna.
His Mate was so very stubborn and head strong, and she’d dealt with a lot in the past few months of being here, but hadn’t given up on their mate bond. She was he could see, determined to save them all on her own. Her stubborn refusal to just lay down and be walked all over, to hold her head up showed him just how much strength she had.
Once things were sorted out and that Luna Ceremony was attended to, then they could regrow their bond, but not before. Because she had little to no faith in him at all anymore, and he could or had to understand that, only proving his loyalty before all his allies and the pack would she see herself forgiving him, but she was never going to let him forget what he’d done to her.
As for her punishing Gloria, good he wanted that. She should be allowed to do it herself. After all, Gloria had made her suffer. After all the things, Gloria had told her, to wound her even further and tear them apart, little by little, until they were completely broken and apart, just so she could have him for herself.
He had a feeling Gloria was not going to like being de–ranked down to Omega status, but he could actually see she deserved it. He also thought that once he did it, she would just turn herself rogue and leave the pack so as not be seen like Nora wanted her to be. She likely didn’t have the backbone that Nora did. He was actually hoping she would do that as well, after what he’d just heard and learned.
If he ever so much as raised a hand to defend Gloria ever again, he would lose Nora for good. Nora had told him on more than one occasion now that she didn’t want Gloria at the Luna Ceremony, but he would have to pull her into the room after Nora had accepted him, so he could do as she wanted to prove he no longer loved
Gloria.
The question was, when was he to do it, directly after the speech and her acceptance, or let everyone see the festivities and their bond start to form and then bring her in an hour or so later? Jace walked into his office and his unit all looked at him. He knew what they were thinking.
“She will stand next to me, but that is all,” he stated. “She also wants full, pack punishment for Gloria in front of everyone on the night of the Luna Ceremony.” It was the only way he could take her words, “to have Gloria de–ranked to omega status and scrub toilets forever.”
They all just nodded at him. “To be expected.” Mark nodded. “Are you going to?”
“I will, she voiced very clearly, if I defend Gloria even once, after the ceremony is attended to. She’ll reject me, leave, killing Gloria before she goes, so I have neither of them.”
They were all staring at him now. “That’s the same shades of your mother, Jace. Did you tell her about what happened to your parents?” John asked.
“No, I never have, and yes, we all know what happened there. None survived in the end.” He nodded. “She is much stronger than I think any of us understand. I also get the feeling she wants to take her rightful place as

“Most Lunas are like that,” Matt stated. “I also wouldn’t think she’ll just fall at your feet, the moment the ceremony is over. I dare say that your Mate is going to be one to just stare at you, or challenge you at ve turn. She’ll never just sit back and take crap from you ever again. Not from anyone. This is the stance she is making for you to see, that you chose wrong”
“You are correct on that, she said the same thing, and I did choose wrong.” He murmured and sat down. How are the preparations going in the ballroom?”
“On schedule, though Gloria was seen to be peering in one of the windows to see what was going on, or maybe how it looked this morning, I heard from one of the omegas.” John sighed. “She’s likely going to cause trouble on the day.”
“She won’t be, or she can try. It will get her nothing but a trip to the shaming post and a lashing will be had, because she has been told already she is not welcome at that ceremony. Nora is the Luna, and she can decline who attends, and those who are told no and attend anyway are going against their Luna’s orders, so… “he left it unsaid as he thought about how to get what he wanted.
He connected himself to Gloria via a mind–link, and he could hear the smile in her voice as–she addressed him, ‘Alpha Jace, how may I help you?‘ she asked, and he heard it; the Luna voice she used.
‘You’ll be attending the Luna Ceremony, though after Nora has been proclaimed the Luna to the pack. I want you to wear something nice. Formalities must be attended to in the seating of my Luna.
‘Of course, I’ll wait out in the hall for you to call me in. I’m glad to see that you’re going to attend the Luna
Ceremony officially. It is a good thing.‘ She stated ‘I’ll pick up a nice dress,’
‘Good. He stated and disconnected himself from her, then a shudder of almost revolution rolled through him,
“Goddess, you’re right John, even now I think she believes I’m going to claim her with Nora standing right
next to me. The woman is completely delusional, it seems.”
“What did you tell her?” Matt asked.
“To come and dress nicely, but she’s not allowed in the ballroom until after the speeches are done. After Nora
has been announced,” he told them all.
“Jace, I’ll go over to her dorm and make sure she’s aware. She is not to even enter the packhouse until after
Nora has made her way into the ballroom,” Mark stated, “Or she might just get dressed up and lean right on
the doorway like she’s always done, portraying herself as the pack’s Luna. That will tick Nora off.”
“It’ll more than tick Nora off, she’ll likely just bang into the room and reject me. So yes, go and make my order
clear to that she–wolf. Tell her if she doesn’t adhere to the rules, I’ll de–rank her to omega status before
everyone.” He nodded and watched Mark get up and leave to go and do that.
He was going to do it anyway. That’s why the nice dress, so he could humiliate her in front of the pack, like she had been doing to Nora all these months, something he’d been blind to himself, due to her manipulative
ways of keeping him by her side.

“Jace, have you done everything that needs doing, all the things that should have been done when Nora came here? I understand Gloria was to attend to a lot of those things but didn’t do any of them. Have yo
anything at all?”
“Only her university degree,” he stated, and leaned back in his chair. “There is nothing on it, she never

registered it with the pack. Or if she told Gloria about It, Gloria never put it in a pack file or anything, Kve asked her twice about her degree, and she just stares at me, is not willing to tell me even what she studies st where.” He sighed. “All I got was don’t worry about it, I got a full scholarship it’s paid for.”
Matt sighed heavily. “She won’t tell you what she’s studying at all?”
“No, and I quote “I never hid it, you should know seeing as how often I studied, and you yelled about it being all I cared about. I couldn’t get her to tell me. She doesn’t want me to know, also isn’t about to let me pay for it. I looked at her things today. I’m guessing all her books are boxed up, she’s packed it appears.”
“Packed?” Matt frowned instantly.
“Yes, I questioned the omegas, when I saw them taking boxes towards her room, and I was informed they were for her belongings for when she moves on the full moon. After the Luna Ceremony, that is what Nora told them. So that is at least something. She’ll be back in the Alpha Suite after the ceremony,” he nodded.
“I’m guessing once everything is as it should be, and we’re back to getting along, she’ll tell me about her degree, and I’ll be able to take it over and pay for it. It’s very likely she is still very ticked off deep down inside about what happened that day between us. It was the day she officially gave up on us. I know that much so talking to her about it, she just shuts herself down,” Jace sighed.
“I can’t even blame her, she got a perfect 4.0, and not only did I break her phone, but physically harmed her as well. I knew she barely had Rosa and still I flooded my aura over her, and she was injured on top of everything else. I called her childish for moving into that room and out of ours even.” He leaned back in his chair.
“I was the one in the end that made the final tearing of our bond. I didn’t even feel it. I was mortified by harming her that night, but didn’t feel our bond sever, because she was right. I was in love and bonded to another, even without a mate bond. She was the only one to feel us being ripped apart, the only one to be heartbroken. Because I didn’t care to really see it, I guess that is the only way I can think of putting it. I still had Gloria right there next to me, just like always and that was all that mattered to me, I guess. So bloody blinded when I should have known better.”
“I think Jace, we’re all responsible in a way, for not understanding what was going on. It didn’t help that Gloria was always telling you, and us to just be patient. Nora was only young. There was never any venom in her words. She sounded genuine all the time, even to me. I never picked up on her wanting to get rid of Nora, to split you two up. She fooled us all and got past me the pack Gamma, and that only compounded the situation,” Matt murmured.
“Nora won’t even let you bond with her now. She thinks it’s funny that you’re broken,” Jace muttered.
“I’m not broken,” Matt stated with a shake of his head. “Gloria simply never allowed her jealousy or thoughts of hatred and separating you to, to be thought of while I was right there…” He sighed heavily now and looked at Jace. “There’s also a full threat from Nora to me, that if I attempt to use my charm on her, she’ll leave you.”
“What?” Jace frowned.
“Yes, if I help you sway her, the moment I stop she’ll reject you and leave. That’s the threat. She wants you to suffer and feel like she did. That’s all I can put it down to. Without Rosa, she’s quite difficult to read. She can and does shut off all her emotions, had many months to learn how to do it, and is now very good at it.
to or “She also always reminds me of what she will do, if I try to help you in any way, or if she thinks I’m y that you’ve asked me to.” Matt sighed. “So, boss, you’re completely on your own, separated from your support system, so to speak. Just like she had no one to help her, you’re not allowed to have anyone help you with
her. That’s all I can put it down to
