Alicia let out a soft laugh. “I figured it out the moment you got into trouble. Yvonne’s one of the city’s socialites—there’s no reason for her to go out of her way to help me, fussing over every little thing.”

She’d seen through it all from the start.

Tyrone fell quiet again. He’d always known Alicia was sharp, but he hadn’t expected her to suspect the White family so quickly.

“Alicia, the Whites aren’t as simple as they look. Whether it’s Jade, Brandon, or whoever’s pulling the strings behind the scenes…” Tyrone warned her. She needed to be careful.

“I can take care of myself,” Alicia replied, reassuring Tyrone. She wouldn’t fall for anyone’s schemes so easily, and she didn’t want him to worry.

“Clayton, you haven’t actually found the real Nicole, have you?” Jade asked, her tone probing. “You’re just trying to find someone to impersonate Nicole, aren’t you? That way you can keep the White family’s fortune from slipping away. But don’t forget, we’re not that easy to fool.”

Jade stood, sauntering over to Clayton with a sly smile. “Without a DNA test, we’re not buying it.”

Clayton shot Jade a cold look. “The only person who decides anything in this family is the old man. What you or I say doesn’t matter.”
