Chapter 105 Don’t Miss Today’s Apology

After changing into a fresh white coat, Natalie walked quickly back out.

Zoey had already finished the recording. With everything ready, Natalie turned toward Atlas. “Open the door. Let Ms. Zoey give our clinic a proper apology.”

A flicker of excitement crossed Atlas‘ face. “On it.”

Zoey caught the smile tugging at his lips and stomped her foot in fury.

Meanwhile, at the curb, the Maybach’s passenger–side and rear windows were rolled halfway down.

Two pairs of dark eyes were fixed on the clinic doors, watching every movement inside with keen attention.

“Mr. Collins, it’s been a while now. You don’t think something went wrong in there, do you?” James, tense behind the wheel, glanced into the rearview mirror at the man seated in the back. Marcus‘ face was calm, unreadable. He rested an arm against the window frame, a cigarette balanced between his fingers. Smoke curled upward as his gaze never wavered from the clinic

entrance.

“No rush. We’ll wait.”

The words had barely left his lips when Atlas swung the doors open.

James‘ head snapped toward the sound.

Out came Zoey, pushed forward by Atlas, a megaphone in her hand and her face twisted with barely–contained rage.

“What on earth?”

James blinked, baffled by the sight.

Marcus‘ hand paused mid–gesture, the cigarette between his fingers momentarily forgotten as his eyes landed on a familiar silhouette inside.

“Step right up, everyone, don’t miss this!” Atlas boomed with a grin. “The woman who tried to frame our clinic a while back has come today to apologize publicly to Dr. Foster, Dr. Atlas, and all our patients!”

A handful of patients had been lingering outside even before opening hours. At Atlas‘ words, they hurried back to the doorway, joined quickly by curious onlookers. The crowd grew larger and louder by the second.

“Well? Get started already!”

Natalie urged her when she stood frozen, refusing to press play.

But Zoey still didn’t budge, no intention of turning the recording on.

Natalie strode up, snatched the megaphone from her grip, and switched it on before shoving it back into her hands.

A woman’s voice rang out, looping over and over, “Hello everyone, my name is Zoey. The allergy incident recently was a farce, it was me who framed the clinic and slandered Dr. Foster and Dr. Atlas. Their medical skills are excellent. I recognize my mistake and I am here to apologize to them. I am truly sorry.”

The words repeated again and again, spilling into the street.

The crowd swelled, pointing, whispering, some covering their mouths to laugh. Strangers leaned in, gossip spreading like wildfire.

Zoey’s face burned. She dropped her gaze to the ground and raised a hand to shield her face. This is unbearable.

She instantly regretted ever agreeing to something so absurd. And for thirty whole minutes?

James couldn’t help himself–he burst out laughing at the scene.

“Mr. Collins,” he said, half–amused, half–incredulous, “Ms. Foster’s move is genius. It’s just like when criminals were paraded through the streets in ancient times, isn’t it?”

Marcus flicked his cigarette butt onto the pavement, exhaling one last stream of smoke. His face gave away nothing.

He glanced at Zoey only briefly, then his eyes returned to that slender figure standing tall in the doorway.

With the matter resolved, there was no reason to linger.

“Drive. Back to the group.”
