Victoria wore a pale blue evening gown, her entire presence exuding a soft, graceful warmth; her makeup was polished and elegant, perfectly suited for the occasion.
Natalie had opted for a light, understated look as well. Compared to Victoria’s radiant glamour, her makeup carried a subtle coolness, but it only highlighted her refined elegance–like a white magnolia blooming quietly, beautiful in her own right.
“I’m still married to Jackson,” Natalie said, her tone cool and detached. “Coming to grandfather’s birthday party is perfectly natural, isn’t it? But you, Ms. Victoria–since Mr. Jackson hasn’t made you his wife, how do you have the nerve to show up at Mr. Gabriel’s birthday celebration?”
“It was Jackson who invited us. Do you have a problem with that?”
Victoria hadn’t even opened her mouth when Zoey jumped in with a sharp retort.
“What problem could I possibly have?” Natalie arched her lips into a faint, polite smile. “A guest is a guest, after all. And since I’m still a member of the Collins family, allow me to welcome you, both of you.”
This was the entrance to the estate, guests coming and going in steady streams; this was hardly the place for a conversation.
Natalie didn’t linger. She turned and walked forward, her heels clicking lightly against the stone path.
Zoey seethed, gritting her teeth. “Victoria, did you see that? The nerve of her was absolutely infuriating!”
Victoria cast a sidelong glance at Natalie’s retreating figure, her expression darkening as her gaze followed her.
She turned to Zoey. “You’re certain Ruben’s coming tonight?”
“Of course,” Zoey said without hesitation, her voice brimming with confidence.
“And everything’s ready?”
“All set,” Zoey murmured, leaning closer, her voice a hushed whisper near Victoria’s ear. “If Gabriel finds out his granddaughter–in–law’s been tangled up with his youngest son’s brother, he’ll definitely agree to the divorce. And when that happens, stepping into the Collins family will be within your reach. Tonight, we’ll settle both old grudges and new.”

“Natalie’s rental is under Ruben’s name, which already proves they’ve had private dealings for a while. Even if someone catches them, no one would suspect us. They’ll just assume the two of them have been carrying on an affair all this time.”
Victoria’s lips curved, a subtle smile tugging at the corners as she listened.
“Victoria, what are you two whispering about?”
The sudden voice from behind startled her, making her shoulders jolt.
“What’s wrong?” Jackson’s voice was low, edged with concern. “Why do you look so pale?”
Zoey reacted instantly, her words smooth and practiced. “We just ran into Ms. Foster at the entrance. She must’ve said something… unpleasant; it upset Victoria.”
Victoria lifted her gaze and exchanged a quick glance with Zoey, the corners of her lips curving in satisfaction.
“Don’t mind her,” Jackson said, his tone softening. “Just enjoy yourself tonight.”
Almost instinctively, Victoria leaned into his side. “Alright.”
“Mr. Collins is back too? Isn’t that his car?”
A guest’s voice rang out, drawing everyone’s attention.
Heads turned almost in unison toward the driveway.
The voice had carried; even Natalie, walking ahead toward the villa, heard it.
She paused for the briefest moment before resuming her steps toward the grand entrance, not sparing a glance behind her.
Though she had already asked for a divorce, the papers hadn’t been finalized; in name, she was still part of the Collins family, and that meant she had to take the main seat.
She sat beside Gabriel, and as the guests took in the sight, it was clear just how much weight she held in his eyes.
What they didn’t know was that her place there had been Marcus‘ idea, solely to make things easier for Gabriel.
Jackson took the seat next to her, his voice low as he greeted, “Uncle Marcus.”
At the sound of his voice, Natalie, who had been glancing down at her phone, instinctively
