Chapter 138 Money Talks But I Don’t
The blush on Natalie’s cheeks deepened; just then, the elevator doors opened.
For her, it felt like salvation.
“Mr. Ruben, this is your stop.”
Ruben grinned. “If you don’t want to say it, fine. I can probably guess anyway.”
He strode off, lips still curved in that faint smile.
Only after the elevator doors slid shut did Natalie manage to collect herself.

Stepping out onto the thirty–eighth floor, she immediately ran into James, who was on his way down.
He led her to the CEO’s office. “Mr. Collins is in a meeting–he should be back in about ten minutes.”
“Alright.”
Once James left, Natalie lifted her gaze and took in the space.
His office was done entirely in shades of black, white, and gray; cool and restrained, just like its
owner.
Her eyes drifted toward a door beside the desk. The words Executive Lounge gleamed on the plaque.
The sound of the door opening behind her made her turn.
Marcus stepped in, his gaze indifferent as it met hers.
He must have known she was here; his expression didn’t flicker as he strolled casually toward the desk.
“What brings you here, Ms. Foster?”
Natalie rose quickly from the sofa and walked straight over.
“Mr. Collins, you don’t need to play dumb.” She pulled out a chair and sat across from him. “I transferred you half a million yesterday; this morning you sent three hundred thousand back.”
“Didn’t you say you only wanted a car worth two hundred thousand?”
Marcus set his files down, lips tugging into the faintest of smiles.
Natalie rarely saw him smile; the sudden warmth of it caught her off guard, leaving her dazed.
He looks good when he smiles.
Seeing her silence, he added, “And you only just got out of prison. You don’t exactly have much money. I returned the three hundred thousand for Lily’s sake. If I gave you cash directly, I doubt you’d take it.”
