“Ms. Foster, Zoey was only trying to buy some bags. Why are you being so harsh with her?”
Victoria quickly pulled Zoey to her side, speaking as though defending her.
“Does she look like she’s buying bags properly? Every single one I reach for, she snatches.”
“Ms. Foster, this isn’t your private shop. If I’m not mistaken, this mall belongs to Anderson Corp, doesn’t it? That would make it Marcus’s–not your husband’s.”
Zoey curved her lips, eyes glinting with challenge.
Natalie ignored her and turned to leave.
“Ms. Foster, I heard you used the three million Jackson gave you to set up a medical clinic. Such a big decision, and you didn’t even consult him?”
Natalie stopped, turning back toward the speaker.
Victoria’s face wore a gentle smile, but her eyes glimmered with hidden malice.
Natalie turned fully, a cold laugh escaping her. “Now I finally understand why you and Jackson ended up together. Birds of a feather, after all.”
At those words, Victoria’s smile cracked.
Zoey snapped angrily, “Natalie, what nonsense are you spouting? If you can’t speak properly, don’t speak at all!”
“Jackson also thinks I stole his three million. But that money came from selling my guardian lions. The fact that you both say the same thing only proves how alike you are.”
For a moment, Victoria was speechless.
It was true. Jackson had paid for those lions. That fact was undeniable.
Zoey, unwilling to see her friend cornered, lashed back. “With your lousy skills, that so–called clinic of yours won’t last a month. That three million will be gone in no time. Don’t be surprised if not a single patient shows up–you’ll be humiliated.”
“You don’t need to worry. Even with my ‘lousy skills,‘ treating someone with your kind of brain must be more than enough.”

Natalie slid a card into her hand, her voice cool. “If no other doctor can help, you’re welcome to come find me. Once the clinic opens, we’ll be waiting for you.”
Without another glance, she strode away.
Zoey glared after her, then looked down at the card in her hand, fuming.
“Meridian therapy, cupping, acupoints…”
“She’s nothing but a fraud, tricking old folks. If she kills someone one day, I want to see how
e explains it.”
ria glanced at the card, listening to Zoey’s tirade.
she turned and said calmly, “When does Natalie’s clinic open?”
y frowned. “Why do you care? You’re not actually thinking of showing up, are you?”
toria’s brow eased, a slow smile tugging at her lips. “I just want to prepare a little gift for her grand opening.”
At once, Zoey understood.
She placed the card into Victoria’s hand. “I’ll find out for you.”
But Victoria pushed it back, her white fingers pale against the card. “No. It’ll be better if the gift comes in your name, not mine.”
Zoey’s curiosity burned. “What are you planning?”
Victoria’s smile deepened, sly and secretive. “You’ll see when the time comes.”
That evening, Natalie returned home with Lily. From a distance, she spotted a familiar figure.
He stood in a white shirt, trousers accentuating his long legs, leaning casually against a car with a phone at his ear. His brows were drawn, his face calm, exuding a chill that kept others at a distance.
When his gaze shifted, it caught hers by chance.
