Chapter 83 The Scene in the Garden
Chapter 83 The Scene in the Garden
Atlas said seriously, “What doesn’t kill me only makes me stronger.”
As his voice fell, he gave Natalie a big thumbs-up.
Natalie tapped the desk lightly with her pen. “There’s a patient coming in.”
“Got it.” Atlas quickly hurried to the front desk. “Welcome…”
Just then, Natalie’s phone rang. She glanced down instinctively and saw it was Jackson’s mother, Stella.
After hesitating for a few seconds, she finally rose and answered.

Stella’s voice came through the line. “Today is the day for your grandfather’s follow-up. You haven’t forgotten, have you?”
Natalie’s hand holding the phone faltered.
With everything happening at the clinic recently, she truly had forgotten.
Gabriel was still in recovery and needed check-ups every other week.
Strictly speaking, she wasn’t obligated, but she’d made a deal with Marcus over dinner: she would treat Gabriel, and Marcus would help her reclaim the little courtyard her grandfather had left.
Besides, she genuinely worried about Gabriel’s health. It was only right for her to examine him.
“Alright, I understand.”
She gave a quiet reply, deciding to go later that evening.
Neither of them said more, both tacitly ending the call.
Stella rarely meddled in her and Jackson’s relationship, but Natalie knew very well-among the entire Collins family, Gabriel was the only one who had truly treated her with kindness.
That was something she would never forget.
Though the clinic saw more patients that day, none of the cases were serious. As evening fell, she packed up and went to the Collins family’s old estate.

Chapter 83 The Scene in the Garden
The moment she stepped inside the gate, she spotted two figures at the veranda.
Victoria and Jackson were seated together in the garden pavilion.
Jackson’s hand brushed her hair, gently tucking loose strands behind her car.
Victoria reached up and placed her hand over his.
Their gazes locked, brimming with tender affection.

If this had been three years ago, Natalie would have gone home, buried herself under the covers, and cried until she couldn’t breathe-cursing Jackson as heartless, faithless, cruel.
But now, there was only one reaction.
Disgust.
Her eyes flicked to where Aiden was nearby, playing among the flowers, and her expression hardened.
“What, no bedrooms in the house? You have to do this in front of a child?”
Her voice rang out, cutting straight through their moment.
Jackson’s head snapped up, startled to see her standing at the entrance.
Victoria quickly withdrew her hand and stood from the pavilion bench.
Natalie and Jackson weren’t officially divorced yet, which meant at best she was the “other woman.”
At worst, not even that.
Jackson had never once admitted publicly that he and Victoria were together.
“What nonsense are you spouting?” Jackson’s expression darkened. He darted a glance toward Aiden, then looked back sharply at her. “Since you know the child is here, watch your mouth.”
“Nonsense?” Natalie strode closer. “Do you even see what you’re doing?”
“Ms. Foster, are you jealous?” Victoria’s tone carried feigned grievance. “Jackson and I weren’t doing anything improper.”
“Oh? Unless I catch you in bed together, nothing counts?”
