Chapter 8Chapter 84 Confrontation
Chapter 84 Confrontation
Behind her came the child’s questioning voice.
Natalie didn’t stop walking.
Out of sight, out of mind.
When she reached the living room, Gabriel was seated, watching the evening news.
The moment he saw her, his face broke into a wide smile. “I knew you’d come today.”

Natalie curved her lips into a faint smile. “Grandpa, how have you been feeling lately? Has the shortness of breath improved?”
“It’s gotten much better.”
Gabriel nodded, his face full of warmth and kindness.
Natalie reached out and took his pulse. “Let me check properly for you.”
“Alright.”
While she was taking his pulse, Gabriel said lightly, “Stay for dinner tonight. Jackson and Aiden are here, and Marcus will probably come back soon too. It’s been a long time since we’ve all been together.”
At the mention of Marcus, Natalie’s lashes quivered ever so slightly.
But the thought of Victoria being here made her decline immediately. “No need, Grandpa. My friend already made dinner at home. I’ll be heading back soon.”
“It’s rare for you to come. Do as I say and stay.”
Natalie lifted her gaze to his face. Unable to refuse his insistence, she finally nodded. “Alright.”
She gave Gabriel treatment on two acupuncture points. When she finished, dinner wasn’t ready yet, so she decided to step out for some air.
At the far end of the veranda, she spotted a familiar figure.
Victoria.
She was on the phone, but as she turned, their eyes met.

The call ended abruptly. Natalie walked straight up and stopped in front of her.
“Ms. Foster.”

With Jackson absent, Victoria’s expression was stripped of softness, replaced by open disdain.
“I’ve been meaning to find you. Didn’t expect to run into you here.”
Natalie’s tone was cool, her face calm.
“What would you need me for?” Victoria’s voice was cutting. “Given the ‘relationship’ between us, I don’t think we’re close enough to be seeking each other out.”
Natalie didn’t waste time. “Were you the one who sent Zoey to sabotage my clinic?”
The moment the words landed, Victoria’s face flickered with disbelief.
It was fleeting, but Natalie caught it.
“What nonsense are you talking about?”
Victoria frowned, her expression unsteady.
“Don’t pretend.” Natalie lowered her voice. “That troublemaker admitted under Marcus’s assistant’s questioning that Zoey was behind it. Didn’t Zoey tell you?”
“Why would she tell me?” Victoria’s tone hardened. “That’s between you and her. What does it have to do with me?”
Natalie let out a cold laugh.
As expected, Victoria refused to admit anything.
Just as she’d thought.

Casually, she said, “What enmity could there possibly be between me and Ms. Zoey? At most, I didn’t rent her father’s property. Or maybe I didn’t treat her when she came to me…’
“And those don’t count as grudges?”
Victoria’s expression sharpened, her aura turning heavy and oppressive.
“But even so, would that really drive her to go after me so viciously?” Natalie leaned closer, her voice calm. “What do you think, Ms. Hayes?”
