“If Mr. Collins can’t control himself, then go to the guest room and find your first love. I’m sure she’ll serve you well. As for me-don’t count on it.”
Natalie shoved him off and sat upright on the bed.
“If I can’t control myself, then as my wife, isn’t it only natural you should take care of me?”
Jackson yanked her wrist and pulled her close again. His hand slid down to her waist, drawing her into his arms.
The air in the room grew thick with unwanted tension.
But Natalie’s voice was calm, sharp. “First love and wife-don’t you find that disgusting?”
“Watch your mouth.”
“Cleaner than yours.” She glared at him, pushing him away again. “She’s right down the hall. No need to sneak around in the middle of the night like last time. Such a perfect chance-why aren’t you taking it?”

“You already know the answer.”
Natalie ignored him, walking toward the balcony.

Her steps faltered at the sound, her eyes closing tightly for a moment.
Only after standing still for a long while did she breathe again, and finally moved toward the balcony.
Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a figure on the next balcony over.
Her body went rigid.
She turned instinctively-and saw Marcus.
He leaned against the glass railing, sleeves rolled up, arms strong in the dim light, his back slightly bent as his head turned toward her.
