“You’re awfully generous.” Marcus’s smile was cold, his gaze darkening. “Even handed him over yourself.”

“He hasn’t belonged to me since three years ago,” Natalie said flatly. “What I couldn’t give him. of course he’d take from someone else. And it’s not the first time, so what difference does it make?”

From the hall outside Marcus’s room came the sound of approaching footsteps.

His eyes flicked instinctively toward the door.

Moments later, at Natalie’s door, Victoria’s voice rang out. “Jackson, we’re at the room. Try to stay steady…”

Natalie’s chest tightened.

Victoria was sending Jackson back to her?

Was it because of the child nearby, that she didn’t dare take him to her own room?

“Need me to give you a hand?”

Marcus’s voice broke into her thoughts.

She turned toward him, confused, only to catch the madness flickering in his eyes.

“What?”

“You’ve dragged this divorce long enough. I can’t stand to watch it anymore.” His hand slid from her neck to her cheek. “Why don’t I help speed things along?”

Her heart stumbled, then pounded wildly. A wave of unease rose within her.

A knock came at the door.

And Victoria’s voice followed: “Ms. Foster? Are you inside? Take Jackson in with you.”

At that exact moment, Marcus’s lips descended on hers.

Natalie’s mind went blank, her pupils blown wide with shock.

Marcus…

Chapter 89 The Kiss

He was kissing her.

Not by accident this time. But willingly. Deliberately.

His eyes shut, his kiss gentle at first, coaxing, even daring to test against her teeth.

Electric shivers rippled through her entire body, her legs weakening beneath her.

She couldn’t deny it-the sensation he stirred in her was something she had never felt before.

But the moment the door creaked open, clarity crashed back in.

She shoved against his chest, trying to push him away.

“Ms. Foster?”

“Why isn’t she here?”

Victoria entered slowly, supporting Jackson. Her eyes swept the room-empty.

The balcony doors were drawn half shut, concealing everything outside. But the faint sounds made her suspicious.

Her steps

drew closer.

Natalie’s pulse leapt into her throat.

As she tried to pull free, Marcus’s arm wrapped around her waist, holding her fast.

His kiss deepened, fiercer than before, her mind bursting like fireworks she couldn’t contain.

Just as Victoria’s hand reached toward the curtains, the bed behind them creaked.

Jackson suddenly bolted upright and staggered toward the bathroom.

“Jackson, what’s wrong?” Victoria turned sharply, following him.

Moments later, retching noises echoed from the bathroom, along with her fretful voice.

Marcus’s lips had trailed from Natalie’s mouth down to her chin, his hunger pressing lower, restless, demanding more.
