Chapter 56 Help!

The car turned onto a narrow country road. Weeds grew tall on both sides, and there wasn’t a soul in sight. Amelia’s guard slowly went up. Her fingers tapped lightly on the steering wheel.
“Is this the place?” she asked, slowing the car as she looked around.
“A little further…” the girl in the passenger seat said softly, her voice suddenly trailing off.
Then-
BANG!
The car jolted hard.
Amelia slammed on the brakes. She turned her head and saw the rear tire had blown out.
“What the heck?” She quickly unbuckled her seatbelt, ready to get out and check.
But before she could move, a strange glint flashed in the girl’s eyes. A syringe slipped from her sleeve, and she lunged straight at Amelia.
In an instant, Amelia twisted sideways, grabbed the girl’s wrist, and forced her hand down.
The syringe clattered to the ground, its contents soaking into the ground.
Amelia’s face turned cold. “Who sent you?”
The girl’s timid mask vanished. Her lips curled into a twisted grin. “You caught me. Doesn’t matter. Do what you want.”
Amelia gave a low laugh. “Is that so? Then you’ve never seen what I can do.”
She pulled a small pill from her pocket and shoved it into the girl’s mouth.
The girl’s eyes widened in shock. She thrashed, trying to spit it out. Amelia clamped her jaw shut, forcing her to swallow.
“W–what did you make me take?” the girl stammered, her face turning pale.
Amelia calmly let go and brushed off her sleeve. “Something that makes you tell the truth.”
The girl suddenly doubled over, clutching her stomach. Pain twisted her body as she gasped. “It hurts!”
Amelia looked down at her, her voice icy. “Now–who sent you?”
The girl bit her lip, fighting back, but the pain was too much. Sweat poured down her face. “I–I don’t know who it was. They just told me to bring you to a warehouse. Said some guys were waiting there. They’d take photos of you, and they would ruin you.”
Amelia’s mind flashed with one name–Gianna.

Chapter 56 Help!
Who else wanted to destroy her reputation this badly?
Her eyes hardened. Her fingers tightened. “Where’s that place?”
Shaking and groaning on the ground, the girl lifted a trembling hand and pointed toward an old warehouse nearby. “Th–there… please… the antidote.”
Finsbed
Amelia pulled out a small vial and let a white pill drop into her palm. “Lead the way. And text the person who hired you. Tell them the job’s done. Invite them to come.”
The girl snatched the pill and swallowed it fast. Relief washed over her face as the pain eased.
She stared at Amelia in horror, finally realizing what kind of terrifying person she had messed with.
For the first time, she was truly afraid.
She had never failed a job before. This time, she had met someone far more dangerous than she expected.
Amelia told the girl to record a short video showing her being knocked out and send it to the person who hired her.
If it was Gianna behind this, Amelia knew she wouldn’t be able to resist coming in person once she thought Amelia had been captured.
The girl’s fingers trembled as she followed Amelia’s instructions, sending the video along with a message.
“The target’s been taken to the warehouse. I had taken her down as planned. Would you like to come and check for yourself?”
A few seconds later, her phone buzzed. The reply read, “Great. I’m on my way.”
Amelia’s expression turned dark. The fish was about to bite.
Not even 20 minutes had passed when a car screeched to a stop outside the warehouse.
High heels clicked on the gravel. A woman whispered, excited, “Amelia, you finally fell into my hands.”
The door flew open. Gianna walked in wearing a designer high heel.
But inside, there was only a worn–out couch. Amelia was nowhere to be seen.
Weird.
Where did she go?
Just then, a few men laughed near the entrance–low and creepy.
“Nice job. When the girl gets dropped off, we’re going to have our fun.“
“I heard she’s an heiress; bet her skin feels real soft.”
“Yeah, can’t wait. Boss goes first.”
