“You? Give me a way out?” Wendy sneered. “No one in this world wants me dead more than you.”
After all, she had been the one who caused Cramer’s father’s death, the one who seized everything that should have belonged to him.
For years, Cramer had swallowed his anger, biding his time until he could reclaim Saint Corp. And now, he had succeeded.
She, on the other hand, stood at the edge of a cliff, one wrong step away from ruin.
Cramer’s voice was calm, almost dismissive. “My father was a fickle, greedy man. I never saw him as a true father. I’m not here for revenge. The only thing between us is that you once stole what was mine. Now that I’ve taken Saint Corp back, there’s no more hatred. Only an exchange of interests.”
At his words, Wendy suddenly saw Leo’s shadow in him. Truly father and son – their cold pursuit of profit, were so alike.
Both men were merchants, nothing more.
their methods,
Still, she owed Leo thanks. Without him, she wouldn’t have learned as much as she did, wouldn’t have built the empire she once had.
“So what do you want?”
“I know you’re holding a stockpile of drugs. You can’t sell them, not to anyone. But I’ll take them – at the lowest possible price. Otherwise, they’ll rot in your warehouses. And without liquid funds, how will you continue your research?”
Wendy’s focus wasn’t on profit or loss. It was on research.
For decades, she had poured herself into finding a way to bring the dead back, to use stem cells to achieve immortality.
But such research was crushingly expensive, requiring manpower, materials, and vast networks of influence. Progress was slow, and costs only grew.
So she had turned to producing what worked: cosmetics and serums that slowed aging, made women look years younger. Those she had sold into the circles of the wealthy, building Ventus into a global powerhouse.

Chapter 594 The Trap
But it had all been possible because of the man behind her.
Now that he had abandoned her, how much longer could she last?
She dared not think about it.

Cramer’s tone was steady. “Think carefully, Mrs. Cullinan. You’ll only get this chance once. If I’m right, you don’t have any funding left for new research, do you?”
He wasn’t wrong.
In Westbrook, she had poured everything into the medical university. When the crackdown came, her assets were frozen before she could move them.
Wendy clenched her fists silently.
“I don’t care how many units you have left,” Cramer continued. “I’ll give you one price, and I’ll take them all. Consider it. Call me back when you’re ready.”
Then he hung up.
Wendy stared at the dead line, her face dark.
Yet who else could she turn to? No one but Cramer could pull her out of this corner.
“How much stock do we have?” she asked her guard.
“About forty to fifty thousand units.”
Her stomach dropped.
That meant five billion worth of inventory, and that was only the stem cell serum. There were other products as well.
“How much is Cramer offering?”
“One billion.”
The number made her blood run cold.
It was outright extortion. With research costs factored in, each unit should sell for forty to fifty thousand. Cramer wanted to take them at one–fifth the cost.
“That’s not all,” the guard added. “He sent another message. If you refuse, Saint Corp will fully crush Wendigo Corp and Ventus. They still control the most important supply lines and factories. It’ll cost them a little, but within half a year, we’ll have no market left.”
