Chapter 131 The Lock–In
Donna’s voice turned cold. “What’s your problem, Elenor?”

Elenor flashed a fake smile. “What are you so worked up about? I just bumped into you by accident. What, you two made of glass or something? I got hurt too.”
“You totally did that on purpose,” Donna shot back. “The hallway’s wide enough. You squeezed right between us. Don’t act like it was an accident.”
Elenor scoffed. “And what if I did? What can you do about it? Hit me? Come on, Donna. You and Estella didn’t even have a coach today. Wasn’t that lesson enough? Keep pushing your luck, and I’ll make sure you’re both out of the competition.”
That was the last straw.
Fuming, Donna hurled her coffee at Elenor.
Elenor shielded her face just in time, but the scalding liquid soaked her clothes. Furious, she grabbed a nearby chair and swung it straight at Donna.
Donna couldn’t dodge fast enough. The blow landed, and blood streamed from her forehead.
Estella gasped. Seeing Elenor wind up for another strike, she rushed forward and shoved her aside before she could land it.
Elenor fell to the ground, hand slicing across broken glass. Blood trickled from the gash.
She screamed in pain, eyes blazing as she glared at Estella. “You two think you’re so clever! Just you wait!”
Estella ignored her and rushed to Donna’s side, pressing tissues to her bleeding wound. With trembling hands, she called 911.
Paramedics arrived quickly and carried Donna away.
Estella tried to go with her, but Donna stopped her, pale and shaking. “I’m done anyway. But you’re not- don’t throw away your chance because of me. Elenor would love that. I’ll be fine, my family’s in Javerton. I’ll have them come take care of me.”
But Estella couldn’t leave. She rode along to the hospital.
Only after Donna’s parents arrived and she explained everything did Estella finally return to the TY
station.
She found out Elenor had also been taken to the hospital.

Figuring there was no point in trying to practice that day, she started heading back to the dorms–until a staff member caught up with her.
“Estella, your coach just became available. Want to get some practice in?”
She hesitated, then nodded. “Okay.”

The staffer smiled. “All the other rooms are full. Go to Room 340 on the third floor. Wait there and your coach will join you.”
Estella thanked him and made her way down the quiet hallway to the room at the very end.
As soon as she stepped inside, she heard the door click shut behind her.
Startled, she turned around–but the door was locked.
She rushed to open it. It wouldn’t budge.
She reached into her pocket to call for help–only to find her phone missing.
She must’ve lost it during the chaos with Elenor or on the way to the hospital.
Suddenly, the lights flickered off.
Silence fell.
Panic began to rise in her chest. She banged on the door with her fists, calling out.
But the room was at the far end of an empty floor–no one might hear her.
Even as her arms grew sore and her voice hoarse, Estella didn’t stop. Every few minutes, she pounded on the door again.
More than an hour passed. Exhausted and anxious, she slid to the floor, heart pounding.
Jonathan had just finished the interview, only to get roped into dinner with the station director and some
execs.
By the time he managed to excuse himself, it was late.
He took out his phone to call Estella–but all his calls went unanswered.
Worried, he asked a staffer where the contestants were practicing and set out to find her.
He kept calling as he walked, until-
He passed the break room and heard a ringtone he recognized.
Estella’s.
