Wendy hesitated, then admitted honestly, “Of course I want to go. But Grandma, Jonathan won’t take me,”
She remembered how she had once threatened suicide for him, and he hadn’t even come to see her. If he hadn’t yielded then, how could he possibly bring her to Sinovia now?
Madam Rosemary waved it off. “Don’t worry about that. I came here to guide you both. I’ll help you.”
Hearing her grandmother–in–law’s promise filled Wendy with confidence.
“That’s wonderful, Grandma. With you here, Jonathan will definitely accept me, little by little.”
Her dream since childhood had never changed – she wanted to marry Jonathan.
“Exactly,” Madam Rosemary said with satisfaction. “Just wait, you’ll be the Bennett family’s daughter–in–law soon.”
She had feared Wendy would be scared off by Jonathan’s indifference, but seeing the girl’s persistence reassured her.
Estella and Selene met with property management to negotiate renting an office floor, only to learn the level directly above their arts center had already been taken.
Both were disappointed.
Estella pressed to know who had rented it.
The agent replied, “A Mr. Hartwell.”
Estella immediately clenched her hands. “Nathaniel?”
The answer confirmed it.
He hadn’t given up after all.
Selene rolled her eyes. “What’s with your ex–husband? Didn’t the news say he’s supposed to marry Isabelle? Why’s he still hanging around trying to make his presence felt?”
Estella could only sigh.
Selene added, “If we can’t rent upstairs, we’ll just look elsewhere. But what if Nathaniel shows

up here all the time now that he owns the floor above?”
“We’ll just have to take things one step at a time,” Estella said.
By noon, Nathaniel himself called.

“I heard you wanted to rent the floor upstairs,” he said, voice a mix of pleading and arrogance. “If you’ll have dinner with me, I’ll transfer it to you. How about it?”
Estella hated the way he always tried to hold her over a barrel.
“No need,” she said flatly. “Since Mr. Hartwell already rented it, you should use it as you like. We’ll find another place.”
Before he could argue, she hung up.
Nathaniel barely restrained the urge to smash his phone. After calming himself, he called in his assistant. “I’ve rented a new office floor. Go organize it. From now on, it’s my executive office.”
The assistant was stunned.
Mr. Hartwell, not working from Hartwell Group headquarters? Moving his office to another building? That would make management and meetings far less convenient.
But it wasn’t hard to guess why
–
clearly it was because of Estella.
Still, an order was an order. “Yes, Mr. Hartwell.”
Later, Selene came to fetch Estella for lunch.
Seeing her friend’s tense expression after a phone call, she guessed, “Nathaniel again?”
Estella nodded.
Selene clicked her tongue. “He really won’t give up. What a pest.”
After cursing him a bit, she pulled Estella along. “Come on, let’s eat. You can’t run on fumes. Who knows, maybe we’ll bump into Jonathan in the restaurant downstairs.”
Estella chuckled. “He’s the one who’s truly busy. Who knows if he even has court today. Running into him isn’t so easy.”
Selene smirked. “You two are hopeless. Neighbors, offices practically stacked on top of each other, and still it’s rare to meet? Honestly, when Nathaniel shows up, I want to see if Mr. Bennett will still be ‘too busy.”
