Chapter 182 A Dangerous Trap
The difference in treatment gnawed at him, leaving a bitter taste.
Was he really worth less than some lawyer?
But no matter how capable that lawyer was, could he pay off Estella’s fifty million debt?
In the end, the only one Estella could rely on was herself.
After hanging up the phone, she turned to Nathaniel. “Didn’t you say you told them to come? Why aren’t they here yet?”
The last time she’d quarreled with Wilson and Lina, she had already blocked them, and she wasn’t about to add them back on WhatsApp.
Nathaniel’s tone was gentle. “They should be here soon. Have some coffee while you wait.”
Estella took a sip, but her chest still felt heavy with unease.
Nathaniel’s

darkened as he watched her finish the cup.
Half an hour passed. The coffee was gone, but Wilson and Lina still hadn’t arrived.
She was about to ask what was happening when a wave of dizziness swept over her.
“Estella?”
Her gaze was glassy, her body slumping against the chair. She couldn’t move, couldn’t speak.
Nathaniel stepped forward, carefully lifting her into his arms.
“You’re not feeling well. Let me take you home.”
Estella tried to push him away, but her body refused to respond.
And just like that, she was carried into his car.
The vehicle drove straight to the Hartwell family villa.
He carried her inside.
Only then did Estella realize she’d fallen into a trap.
With what little strength remained, she shoved at him as he leaned closer.

“Stay away from me!”
But Nathaniel didn’t budge.
He stroked her hair, whispering, “Estella, I’ll pay off the fifty million. Just give me a child.”
Her eyes widened in shock.
“You’re insane!”
Finished
His expression was grim, unwavering. “Yes, I’m insane. You won’t leave here this month–not until you’re carrying my child. Only then will I consider setting you free.”
Jonathan left the firm with plans to visit his grandmother.
It was a pity he hadn’t been able to bring Estella along, but there would be time for that later.
At the hospital entrance, he ran into Isaac.
“Well, what a coincidence, Mr. Bennett,” Isaac said with a wide smile. “Visiting Madam Rosemary, I assume? Would you mind if I joined? I’d love to see her too.”
Jonathan could guess his motives easily enough. Most likely, he was eyeing the Bennett family’s projects.
But Jonathan had no intention of paving the way for the Monroes.
“I’m here on Madam Rosemary’s request to discuss a case. I’m afraid it wouldn’t be appropriate to have outsiders present.”
Isaac didn’t falter at the rejection.
“I see. Well, I’ll come another time. By the way, Mr. Bennett…”
He paused, then asked casually, “I’ve heard Mr. Jonathan is around your age. What exactly is his connection to the Bennett family?”
Jonathan’s reply was calm and clipped. “No‘ special connection. Simply a client and attorney.”
Finding no opening, Isaac shifted his approach.
“Luminary Partners & Co. has a stellar reputation in Javerton. I’ve long wanted Mr. Bennett as our legal counsel. Name your price.”
He thought it a generous offer. Monroe Corp was one of the city’s top enterprises. Their legal

fees were never small.
But Jonathan turned him down flat.
“If Mr. Monroe wishes to discuss business, he can schedule an appointment. My calendar this year may not allow it.”
The arrogance stung. Jonathan didn’t spare him even a shred of courtesy.
