Chapter 185 Only You Cannot See Me
Nathaniel caressed her cheek with deceptive gentleness. “Give me a child, Estella, and I’ll give you a hundred million.”
Humiliation burned in her chest. “You’re insane. If you want a child, find another woman.”
“But I only want a child with you,” he insisted. “Estella, don’t worry. Once you give me a son, I’ll make him my sole heir.”
“I don’t care!”
His gaze darkened, his voice dropping into a husky growl.
“What’s wrong with being with me? You and our child would have a fortune others could never dream of. Jonathan can’t give you that. At best, he’ll give you scraps. Stay with him, and you’ll never have the life you deserve.”
Her eyes blazed with contempt. “Nathaniel, you really are a madman. Let me go, or I’ll press charges.”
“And if you carried my child, would you still?”
He didn’t believe she would.
Her laugh was cold and sharp. “Even if I did, I’d end the pregnancy. You’re not worthy of being the father of my child.”
His expression twisted, torn between hurt and madness. “Estella, I love you. Why can’t you be good to me?”
“Your love is forcing me to do things against my will. Nathaniel, you’re selfish to the core!”
His hand clamped down on her face, anger flashing at her endless defiance.
Whatever he wanted, he would have.
“If that’s how you see me, then so be it. I know you don’t love me anymore. The only way to bind you now is through a child. Whether that changes you or not, I’ll find out.”
He seized her wrist, his grip unyielding. She couldn’t break free.
As he loomed over her, Estella’s body went rigid, tears slipping silently from the corners of her
eyes.
Something in him faltered. He let go, sinking onto the bed beside her.

“Estella, why do you
resist me so much?” His voice was raw.
Though drugged, she fought to stay lucid, refusing to yield.
“You want me to bear your child and lock me in this house for life, just to raise it for you. That’s your dream, Nathaniel–not mine.”
He sighed. “What’s so wrong with being cared for?”
Women chased him endlessly for that very life. Why wouldn’t she?
Her voice broke with anguish. “Because I don’t want to spend my life dependent on someone else, stripped of dignity!”
The memory of those three suffocating years of marriage still weighed on her like chains.
Nathaniel’s pain showed in his eyes. “Why can’t we go back to the way we were?”
But then his jaw tightened. He couldn’t soften–not now. If he wanted to keep her, he had to take the gamble.
“Call me insane, but I need to know. If you have my child, will you still be this heartless?”
He reached out, brushing her face-
And the villa’s security alarm blared.
Scowling, Nathaniel pulled on his clothes and drew the blanket over her before heading for the door.
The moment he opened it, a fist slammed into his jaw, knocking him hard to the floor.
He swung back in fury, but his attacker snapped handcuffs over his wrists with brutal efficiency.
Nathaniel’s eyes went cold as ice. “Who the hell are you? Breaking into my house and cuffing me?”
The man sneered. “Javerton PD. Corbin. We had a report–you abducted a woman with intent to assault. That’s why I’m here.”
“Abduction? Estella’s mine. We’re here willingly.”
He tried to twist the truth.
Corbin’s laugh was razor–sharp. “I read your file before I came. Estella is your ex–wife. You harass her constantly. Last time you were in custody for beating her, weren’t you? And here
you
