The Invisible Wife Turned Savage novel Chapter 42

Chapter 42 Breaking Point

Estella couldn’t think of anyone who would’ve visited her mother.

She told Helen to have her wounds treated and promised to cover the medical costs.

Once Helen left, Estella headed straight to the nurses’ station to check the security footage.

And when she saw the footage-her whole face twisted with fury.

Isabelle.

Her hands clenched. Her entire body trembled with rage.

The timestamp showed Isabelle had only left the hospital five minutes ago. If she rushed to the parking garage now, she might still catch her.

Without hesitation, Estella sprinted to the elevator and rode it down.

Her luck held.

Isabelle had just stepped out of the restroom on B1 and was gracefully walking toward the

garage.

She hadn’t noticed Estella behind her and was on the phone with Nathaniel.

“Nathaniel, I’m not feeling well… I just saw the doctor. My car broke down, and Old Li took it for repairs. Can you come to the hospital and pick me up?”

On the other end, Nathaniel said something, and Isabelle’s voice lit up. “Oh, you’re nearby? Perfect-come quick.”

She hung up and turned to look for a place to wait.

That’s when Estella struck.

She charged forward and rammed Isabelle straight to the ground.

Then, without hesitation, she climbed on top of her and started slapping her-left, right, again and again.

Isabelle screamed in shock. “Who are you?! You dare hit me?! I’m the Monroe family’s daughter! Do you want to go to jail?!”

Estella didn’t respond.

She poured all her fury into every blow, fists raining down like a storm.

Blood streamed down Isabelle’s face.

She scrambled to reach her fallen phone-finally grabbing it and trying to call Nathaniel.

But Estella noticed.

She snatched the phone from Isabelle’s hand and flung it far across the lot.

Isabelle howled, trying to fight back.

Estella didn’t give her the chance-another slap landed, hard.

She didn’t even notice when Nathaniel arrived-until he shouted and rushed forward to stop her.

Seeing him reach for her, Estella grabbed Isabelle’s arm and bit down-hard.

Nathaniel panicked and couldn’t pull her off.

In desperation, he picked up a traffic cone nearby-and swung it straight at Estella’s head.

A sharp ringing exploded in Estella’s skull. Warm liquid ran down her face.

She reached up-blood.

Her vision blurred.

Everything tilted.

And then-blackness.

She collapsed.

Nathaniel stared at her motionless body in horror, hands trembling.

Isabelle had finally been freed.

Her face was swollen beyond recognition, covered in blood. Her arm was torn open where Estella had bitten her, and her back ached where she’d been pinned down and beaten.

She looked up, saw Nathaniel just standing there, and dragged herself over to him, sobbing.

He didn’t move to help.

So she clung to his legs and cried harder.

Only then did Nathaniel snap out of it.

He quickly called an ambulance.

Though Estella had a head injury, Isabelle’s wounds were all over her body. He decided to take her to the ER first.

Paramedics arrived with a stretcher. Seeing Estella’s condition, they rushed her toward the emergency elevator.

At that moment, Jonathan entered the parking garage-and froze when he saw Estella on the stretcher.

He rushed over. “I’m her friend! What happened?”

One of the nurses replied, “She has a head injury and needs surgery. Are you able to contact her family for consent?”

Jonathan knew Estella’s mother was sick and she had no other family.

Without hesitating, he said, “Her family can’t come. I’ll sign.”
