Too Good for You: The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 30

"Noelle, take it easy and stop moving around."

Jude's heart broke when he saw Noelle's injuries. He'd been the one who pushed her to join the International Grand Prix, and he'd been thrilled when she agreed to return to the team. After all, she was a rare talent.

But no one expected that the rare genius Jude had fought so hard to bring back to the racing scene would encounter such bullying in the intensive training camp.

"I'll get to the bottom of this, Noelle. I'll teach the instigator a lesson to remember!" Jude promised, refusing to believe that Noelle had accidentally gone toward the hills and fallen into a ditch. It was a clear case of bullying, if not outright malice.

Noelle's voice was hoarse as she said grimly, "Don't trouble yourself or anyone else, Coach Landaal. I can take care of this."

She wouldn't let anyone get away with stepping on her tail, much less let someone else do her dirty work for her. She'd make it slow and painful for the person who did this.

Jude sighed. He was relieved Noelle hadn't sustained any serious injuries that would get in the way of her racing career. If she did, he'd grind the mastermind's bones into dust.

Noelle added, "Coach Landaal, I'd like to participate in the championship as planned."

She might have been injured, but she could tolerate the pain.

At that moment, Hazel hurried into the room and interjected frantically, "Noelle, you can't participate in the championship in your present state! There are other championships you can join in the future."

She gestured behind her and continued, "Besides, even if you sit this championship out, we've got the numbers to make up for your absence."

But what Hazel actually meant to say was that with many of them participating, they could still perform well without Noelle.

Before Noelle could respond, Jude addressed Hazel gravely, "You don't get to have a say in this. The lot of you should go back and get some rest. Stop crowding outside the room."

Seeing them piled up outside annoyed him to no end.

Hazel was about to argue when she caught Hunter's sharp warning look and shut up. She found him rather intimidating as a coach, like his eyes were too shrewd and could see through her.

She left with the rest of the members of Flame Speed Racing. It was only after the room was far behind them that she groused, "Noelle's already badly injured, yet she insists on joining our line-up for the championship.

"If she screws up, she'll bring down the whole team's score! Why should we be made to bear the brunt of her stubbornness?"

The participating teams in the intensive training camp were evaluated using a point-based system. The teams with the highest cumulative scores would stand the chance to participate in the league championship.

Jayden agreed with Hazel. "Yeah, and if we were to lose the competition, we'd lose to Thunderbolt Racing, too. We've always been neck and neck with them."

Thunderbolt Racing had always harbored a grudge against Flame Speed Racing.
