Too Good for You: The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 33

The tunnel lights outside the window flickered like a psychedelic display.

Noelle's heartbeat grew thunderous. She didn't dislike close physical contact with Hunter, or she wouldn't have fallen for him during their first kiss.

That being said, kisses were all she allowed them to share. But she couldn't offer him real commitment.

She snapped out of her daze, her fingers pressing against his chest as she tried to put some distance between them.

Hunter felt this and released her just as the bus exited the tunnel.

Noelle's face glowed in the buttery sunlight, but it made the blush that stole across her cheeks all the more obvious. She turned away from Hunter, refusing to look at him as she willed her breathing to calm.

Her phone pinged with a message from Hunter. "What were you smiling about earlier?"

Exasperated, but amused, Noelle glanced at Hunter to find him staring at her. He could steal souls with those alluring eyes.

She cursed him for being so devastatingly handsome, then sent a text. "Where did you get the gall to kiss me without my consent, Hunter?"

She would have slapped him if he were anyone else.

Hunter texted back. "Sorry. I shouldn't have done that."

He tugged on the hem of her shirt and batted his eyes innocently at her. She reckoned if the other racers in Flame Speed Racing saw this side of Hunter, they wouldn't think of him as a cold, heartless, devil of a coach anymore.

Shaking her head, Noelle responded with a wry, "I'll let you off the hook this time."

Although she made it sound like he'd kissed her against her will, in truth, she thought she'd lucked out with the kiss. But if she had to be honest, Hunter was a subpar kisser at best and could use some training.

The thought of that made all the blood rush to the tips of Noelle's ears. This was exactly why she couldn't be left alone with Hunter—the man was the very definition of a dangerous, beautiful distraction.

Upon reaching the hotel, Noelle headed to the nearby mall to buy some essentials. She didn't let Hunter tag along, lest their frequent hanging out give others the wrong idea.

The racers were put up in a prestigious hotel in Hardington, and around it were equally prestigious clubs and megamalls.

Noelle had only just emerged from the mall after getting everything she needed when Zayne spotted her from the dessert shop across the street. He pointed at her through the glass window and exclaimed, "Dad, look, it's Mom!"

Clifford's face lit up at this, and he shot to his feet. He knew Noelle would be here on a trip.
