Everyone's anger toward Nicola reached its peak at that moment. It was one thing for her to be unskilled, but it was another matter altogether for her to drag everyone down with her. She was essentially harming everyone's futures.
They were all well aware of the treatment that Flame Speed Racing received for placing first in the league championship. Not only did the team obtain prize money, but they also signed an endorsement deal with Divine Group. They were able to gain recognition while also raising their popularity.
Flame Speed Racing now existed on a higher level in society and were no longer nameless racers.
Winnie Pearson, a member of Swift Racing, spoke up in an odd tone. "Captain, Ms. Quinn is making some good points. Nicola always scores low for her assessments. She's always been dragging us down. If it continues this way, I think we should ask her to leave the team."
Nicola shook her head wildly upon hearing her words. "No! I won't leave!"
She refused to be convinced to leave the team. She had clawed her way to this point from being a regional racer and knew how difficult it was to be promoted to the position she was currently in.
It had been a one-in-a-lifetime chance. If the opportunity slipped through her fingers, there wouldn't be a second time.
Another member of Swift Racing, Zachary Hemming, looked at her in dissatisfaction. "You'd better train hard if you don't want to leave! It's a rare opportunity for Ms. Quinn to personally guide us, and yet you're so ungrateful.
"You've really been spoiled rotten by Mr. Clarkson for thinking that Ms. Quinn is picking on you on purpose."
Derrick felt unbearably awkward. Zachary's words made it seem like he had been abusing his authority all this time to protect Nicola. He immediately apologized, saying, "I didn't fulfill my responsibilities as your captain. I'll let the coach know that I'm stepping down, so a new captain can take my place.
"I'll also help with Nicola's training in the future, so I hope that everyone can stop being angry."
Noelle was finally able to vent some of the frustrations that she had been suppressing.
It was obvious that Nicola wasn't going to have an easy time in Swift Racing moving forward. Since she was so fond of causing trouble for others, she would get to experience what it was like to be hounded by others.
Feeling upset, Nicola wiped the tears from her eyes. The arrogance she had displayed when she threatened Noelle at the entrance of the pit had totally disappeared some time ago.
