Chapter 318
When I came out of the bathroom. Alexander was at my kitchen counter. The ironed black suit fit his muscular body perfectly, and his dark hair was artfully tousled. Just the sight of him made my mouth dry. He was preparing two plates of food, and his movements were precise. Right now–in his business suit–he looked completely different from the dominant, sexy man that I’d shared a bed with last night.
“Mike brought us scrambled eggs, buttered toast, bacon, and sausage,” Alexander said and slid two plates of the delicious–looking food onto the marble counter.
The two thermoses were next to the plates, too. My stomach growled, but I told Alexander I would be back in a second.
I limped to my bedroom so that I could put on my sneakers. After we ate, I wanted to head straight to work. If I allowed myself to be alone with Alexander–especially in my bedroom–I didn’t know if I would be able to control myself around him.
While I was sitting on my bed tying my shoes, I spotted something that made me freeze.
Laying on the middle of my bed was the condom that Alexander had put on last night.

“Just tired,” I answered evasively.
As I picked up my fork, I made the decision to go to the doctor’s today to solve my problem. Since Alexander and I agreed to be in a relationship last night, it was probably time to get on birth control anyway.
My shoulders loosened slightly since I had a plan, and I was excited to dig into the food Mike

But then my apartment door swung open

My neck cracked as I made eye contact with Ava, who was standing in my doorway Shock made my stomach swoop, and I tried to maneuver my body to hide Alexander, but it was too late.
Ava’s eyes widened with surprise as she stared at Alexander.
My boyfriend stayed calm as he put a warm, reassuring hand on my shoulder. “It’s alright, Olivia.” he whispered in my car. “Ava’s your best friend. She was going to find out sooner or later.”
Ava stepped into my apartment. I watched with growing dread as her expression changed from one of shock to excitement as she looked between Alexander, me, and then down to our plates of food
“I knew it!” she exclaimed and shut the door.
