Chapter 323
“No.” he said.
I paused. Part of me was surprised that he was being so open with me. I might as well take advantage of it.
“You followed me here.” I said.
“Yes.” he admitted, then his face softened. “I was worried about you.”
My heart warmed, and his confession made my walls lower. I reached for his hand and laced my fingers through his. I could use the support right now.
Without meeting his eyes, I told him about the broken condom that I found in bed this morning. After I was done explaining why I was at the clinic, Alexander was silent for a long time. His silence lasted for a full two minutes. Finally, I couldn’t take the quiet any longer, and I looked up to meet his eyes.
My head tilted as I deciphered his expression. It didn’t seem like he was nervous. He looked… determined. Weirdly, it seemed like he was planning something as I looked into those dark eyes
of his.
“Alexander?” I prompted because I couldn’t help myself. “Can you please say something?”
Alexander nodded, and I sighed in relief, thinking that he was finally going to clue me into what he was thinking.
I was wrong.
Out of nowhere, he picked up and held me in his arms like a groom would his bride.
“Woah! What are you doing?” I snapped as he carried me out of the clinic
Alexander ignored my question just like he ignored the stares and whispers that followed us out of the building from the people we passed
“Put me down!” I demanded, but he just kept on walking.
I smiled apologetically at the patients and nurses, my cheeks growing red because we were disturbing them. Eventually, I covered my hot face as Alexander continued to walk. When the glare from the hot sun hit my skin, I knew that we were outside.

When we got to his car, he opened the door and gently lowered me into the passenger seat. After he put my crutches in the back, he got into the driver’s seat and held his hand out for his car keys since I had driven his car here.
I handed him the car keys without argument. It was stifling in his car without the AC blasting.
“Are you just going to leave the car you drove here in the parking lot?” I grumbled and crossed my
arms.
“I had Gai drop me off,” Alexander answered as he started the car. “She was the one who told me that
you were acting strangely all morning. That’s the reason that I followed you to your appointment. I wanted to be here to support you.”
Emotion surged through me, but I shoved my feelings down. I couldn’t forget that Alexander had just acted like a rude caveman. “How can you support me when you just forcibly carried me out of the place where my appointment is?”
He snorted. “Like I was going to allow you to go to that clinic. Did you see the state of things there? I bet some of those ‘doctors‘ don’t even have a license to practice medicine.”
I rolled my eyes at the judgemental tone of his voice. “Not all of us are billionaires. Some of us have to go to the clinic for our doctor appointments.”
Alexander grabbed my hand and squeezed it. “Not my girlfriend.” He flashed a quick smile at me. “I’m taking you to the best gynecologist in the city.”
