When Your Cheating Husband's Dream Become Your Divorce Evidence novel Chapter 27

Chapter 4

The next day, I walked into the conference room right on time.

Preston’s eyes lit up instantly as he brought me the proxy form to sign.

Since I’d inherited the largest shareholding, I usually let him exercise my voting rights.

Today he was presenting for the chairman position.

With my proxy, he could vote himself 40% approval.

I signed and turned to see Summer standing proudly in the employee representatives’ section.

I controlled my rage and sat down calmly.

The meeting began. After one candidate’s presentation, Preston took the stage and launched into an impassioned speech.

According to him, he was exceptionally capable with outstanding performance-the perfect choice for chairman.

As slide after slide flashed by, I spotted Summer in multiple activity photos.

The charitable him also loved sponsoring underprivileged students.

When those students’ names appeared, I recognized them from Summer’s profile-they were all her relatives.

My hands clenched into tight fists, my heartbeat accelerating violently.

Back then, Preston had begged me to sell my parents’ house to donate to poor students.

He’d been teary-eyed, looking heartbroken by their unfortunate circumstances.

Turns out all that money went to showing off in front of Summer!

Watching this man deliver his passionate speech, he felt completely foreign to me-even nauseating.

I couldn’t imagine that the person I’d loved for seven years could be this despicably shameless!

After his speech, a shareholder immediately asked, “Preston, there were rumors about your Al assistant being… suspicious. Is that true?”

Preston was well-prepared. He spoke eloquently, not only clearing himself of any cheating allegations but highlighting Summer’s significant contributions to the project and recommending her for direct promotion to project manager after graduation.

After his explanation, Summer beamed from the audience while shareholders instinctively looked at me.

Seeing my silence, they said nothing more.

Before the meeting, they’d all seen me sign the proxy. Combined with Preston’s own resources, he’d definitely become chairman today.

No point antagonizing the future chairman.

One shareholder took the lead: “Summer deserves promotion. Whatever position you want to arrange for her is just a word from you.”

Preston smiled, confidently putting away his materials.

Other shareholders began fawning over Preston:

“I believe Blackwell Corp will only grow stronger under Chairman Blackwell’s leadership!”

“Chairman, you’re so accomplished at such a young age. Blackwell Corp is definitely heading for a bright new era!”
