After the bodyguard left, he quickly arranged for someone to investigate.

The wait for the results was agonizing for Nathaniel.

“Again and again, you saved me first and let Genevieve get hurt. Clearly, you care about me too, so why won’t you admit it?”

“Now that Genevieve is dead, isn’t it good for us to be together? She can’t stand in our way anymore. Why can’t you just admit how you really feel?”

Elaine shouted recklessly, even pulling out the needle from her hand, forcing herself out of bed, and clinging tightly to Nathaniel.

She even stood on tiptoe, trying to kiss him.

“Get away! Don’t touch me!”

Nathaniel reacted violently, pushing her away at once, and even sprayed disinfectant on himself in disgust.
