You Looked Down on Me Once, Now You Look Up. novel Chapter 237

"Running away already? Why not give me a shot?"

"I guarantee I’m better than that fifty-something husband of yours."

The blanket was ripped off the bed and tossed to the floor.

Kelly clamped her lips together, too scared to make a sound.

Greg caught her chin in his hand, forcing her to meet his eyes, his voice cold and shaking with anger. "You ruined me, Ms. Phipps."

"You left me with nothing. My life wasn’t meant to end up like this, but you tore it apart."

"You used me, then dumped me in that nightmare of a mine. I barely made it out alive. And when I finally escaped, you tricked me again—had me locked up in a psych ward, just hoping I’d die. Is my life really that worthless to you?"

"You want me dead? Maybe you should go pray about it, see if fate agrees."

Kelly was frozen, every muscle locked with fear.

Greg looked completely unhinged. Who could blame him?

When Jackson finally found him, Greg was trapped in a psych hospital, drugged out of his mind every day.

Theo never planned to let him go. He wanted Greg dead—just not quickly or painlessly.

The spa outside was busy as usual, but the thick walls and soft music meant no one could hear what really happened inside. As long as they stayed in the room, their secret was safe.

By the time it was over, Kelly slid down against the door, tears running freely as she pressed her hand over her mouth to stifle her sobs.

Greg stood over her, grinning with a twisted satisfaction. "Don’t worry, Mrs. Newton. I’ll be making regular appearances in your life. Just to keep things interesting."

He pulled on his clothes, then took out his phone and held up a video for her to see.

"I’ll keep this album updated for you," he said with a cruel smile.

"You’re insane," Kelly hissed, lunging for his phone, but he easily dodged her.

"You’re the ones who made me this way," he shot back. "A fake wrapped up in fancy clothes. You really think you deserve to teach anyone how to live?"
