The boy continued, “When we watched her compete at the stadium, we mostly saw her from behind. Doesn’t Narissa’s back look just like the woman in the video?”

His words got everyone comparing the two right away.

“Oh wow, it really does!” someone blurted out.

“It’s like they’re the exact same person…” someone muttered.

All eyes instantly landed on Narissa’s back.

As for Narissa, she just kept lying face–down on her desk, totally checked out.

But soon, someone spoke up to shoot down the idea.

A person said, “No way! It can’t be her. I just heard some inside scoop.

“This woman is the legendary master thief, Fox. She’s always been like a ghost, never leaving a trace, and she’s never failed a job.”

“She even managed to break into the military base and escape from Bastien.

“How could someone that incredible possibly be Narissa, the Everton family’s second daughter, who just works as a cleaner?”

As soon as someone raised a doubt, another person immediately joined in.

They said, “Exactly! If you look closely, that woman looks a bit taller than Narissa. How could it possibly be her? You must have gotten it wrong.”

Miranda already couldn’t stand Narissa, so there was no way she’d ever admit Narissa was the one who kissed Bastien.

She would also not admit that Narissa was someone amazing.

Cressida pointed out, “Now that you mention it, I realize their profiles really don’t look alike at all.

“That woman’s face is a bit rounder, totally different from Narissa’s slender features.”

After thinking it through, Cressida was sure they had mistaken the person.

Cressida continued, “Besides, she and Fox are clearly two different types, right?

“Didn’t you notice how that woman had such captivating eyes and a slender, graceful figure? She obviously knows how to seduce people.

“Just from their aura alone, they’re not even the same kind of person.”

Everyone talked themselves out of suspecting Narissa was Fox.

And just like that, the whole thing was dropped.

But for the next few days, people still couldn’t help but gossip about the woman who had boldly stolen a kiss from Bastien.

After all, she’d pulled off the dream of almost every woman in Rothialand. It was definitely something they’d never forget.

Two days later, Narissa was called over to the Elite Military Academy.

They wanted to put her abilities to the test and see what kind of position she’d get in the military district.

Narissa got up bright and early, slipped into a sharp set of casual clothes, and drove over to the military academy.

She’d already completed her enrollment last time, so the facial recognition system let her right in.

Narissa made her way straight to the officer who had handled her enrollment before.

“Alright, Miss Everton, let’s go. I’ll take you to meet my superior!” The officer led her to an office, and soon enough, his superior showed up.

When they met, the two of them checked each other out for a moment.

Then the superior extended his hand. “Miss Everton, I’ve heard so much about you–it’s an honor to finally meet you.”

Narissa gave a slight nod but didn’t shake his hand.

To onlookers, her distant attitude probably seemed downright arrogant and conceited.

The middle–aged officer’s orderly immediately voiced his displeasure. “What’s with you, girl?

“Meeting our commander, and you can’t even show a bit of respect?”

Hearing that, Narissa retorted, “And what exactly counts as respect? I just don’t like physical contact–is that so wrong?”

“You!”

“Enough. Quiet,” the officer ordered, immediately shutting his subordinate up.

He smiled at Narissa. “Anyone with real skills is bound to be a bit cocky, right?”

“But she was being downright arrogant just now,” the subordinate muttered.

The officer replied, “Speaking of arrogance, who could possibly be more cocky than Bastien?

“He even dares to give attitude to the highest–ranking officer in the entire military district. Compared to him, I actually find Miss Everton’s attitude downright adorable.”

Narissa was genuinely surprised that this officer would actually compare her to Bastien.

“Miss Everton, I’m actually the leader of the special ops team. With your skills, it’d be a real waste if you didn’t join us,” the

officer said.

Narissa raised an eyebrow.

She thought to herself, ‘What are the odds?

‘Now that the military district has recruited me again, the first to try and recruit me is the special ops team.

The officer explained, “Oh, it’s a blast! We’ve got this top–secret training ground.
