Chapter 112
“But it’s not just for our special ops team—folks from the intelligence and military divisions train there too.”
“Wanna check it out?” he asked.
“Sure,” Narissa replied.
After all, her whole plan was to be able to come and go from the military district openly, so she could legitimize her presence there.
That way, Bastien would have no reason to suspect she was Fox anymore.
After all, anyone who became a state–certified professional had to pass some seriously strict political screening.

As long as she cleared those checks, her identity would be absolutely unquestionable.
Thinking of this, Narissa felt herself relax, and she couldn’t wait to get to the training base.
Under the officer’s guidance, Narissa hopped into a military vehicle and breezed right into the military district’s secret base.
They took a special route, winding down a long corridor until they reached a massive underground parking lot.
All kinds of vehicles with special license plates were parked there.
“Follow me,” the officer said.
After getting out of the car, the officer and his team led Narissa through several high–security automatic doors.
They eventually arrived at a huge training arena that looked just like a sports stadium.
As soon as she stepped inside, Narissa suddenly felt a sharp gust of wind rush at her from the front.
She glanced up just in time to see a dart spinning wildly out of control before heading straight for her.
“Watch out!” the officer shouted. Cold sweat broke out on his forehead as he saw what was happening.
He’d gone through so much trouble to find someone as talented as Narissa. He was worried that she was gonig to get into an accident right after she joined them.
The young girl who’d lost control of the dart went completely pale, her face drained of color with panic.
“Get down. Duck!” she yelled.
Her shout made everyone in the training arena snap to attention, turning to see what was going on.
Everyone held their breath for Narissa.
As the dart was about to hit, everyone shut their eyes in despair.
Everyone thought, ‘It’s over.
“That girl’s dead for sure!‘
“Oh no, I’m in so much trouble. What have I done?” the girl cried out in panic.

Her knees buckled and she dropped to the floor.
She believed that she would end up killing Narissa.
The only one who kept her cool was Narissa.
As the dart came flying at her, she calmly reached out and caught it mid–air between her index and middle fingers.
Then, with a flick of her wrist, she sent the dart right back.
It landed dead center in the bullseye.
Everyone sucked in a sharp breath.
Her skill, reflexes, and accuracy was on another level.
‘An absolute legend!‘ everyone thought.
“She’s okay!” The girl burst into tears, overwhelmed with relief and excitement.
The very next moment, the whole arena broke out into thunderous applause.

Narissa’s reaction and skills just now were a textbook example of a god–tier move. It was something people only expected to see in a masterclass.
Everyone there knew they could learn a thing or two from her.
The officer was snapped out of his daze by the wave of enthusiastic applause.
Unable to contain his excitement and joy, he reached out and shook Narissa’s hand warmly.
By now, even the subordionate who had looked down on Narissa was seeing her in a whole new light, his attitude completely changed.
“Narissa, how did you just do that?” someone blurted out.
The officer said, “Narissa is a talent I went through a lot to bring in.
“Her skills are something you regular grunts could never hope to master in your whole lives.”
The officer gave Narissa a round of compliments, then finally got to the point.
The officer asked eagerly, “Narissa, are you up for joining our special ops team right now?
“If you’re in, we can sign the enlistment agreement on the spot, and you’ll officially be one of us.”
Narissa frowned. “Wait, I thought you had to pass some kind of test to get into the special ops team?”
The officer replied with a grin, “Rules might be set in stone, but people can always be flexible.
“With skills like that, you’re already way ahead of most people here.
“Why bother with any more tests? I’m making an exception and bringing you in right now.”
Before Narissa could even say a word, the girl who’d nearly caused a fatal accident with her wild dart came rushing over and gave her a deep bow.

She blurted out, “I’m so sorry! I was way too careless–I almost got you killed.
“But seriously, you’re incredible.

“I’ve been practicing darts for ages and still can’t hit the mark, but you just casually nailed the bullseye from all the way over there. How did you even do that?
“Can you teach me your secret?”
Narissa just stayed silent.
The girl realized she might’ve freaked Narissa out a little and quickly reined in her excitement.
She quickly wiped her hands on her pants, then stuck one out to Narissa.
“Hey, let’s introduce ourselves! I’m Skye Adams,” she said with a bright smile.
