Jaylen’s jaw dropped. “What? How is that possible? Austin’s been on top this whole time–how could he lose?”

“Didn’t you see? The other guy’s been acting like he’s on the back foot, but he’s really just draining Austin’s stamina,” Narissa said, swallowing her chip and glancing at the stage.”

She added, “Austin’s legs are slowing down–he’s clearly running out of gas. The other guy’s about to turn the tables any second now.”

The moment those words left her mouth, the room buzzed with reactions.

A person said, “Cressida, your sister is so pretentious. She’s a total newbie at fighting, but she acts like she can call the winner? That’s just too funny!”

Another person said, “Seriously, pretending to know it all–she’s just making a fool of herself!”

Someone else said, “Just shut up already!”

The students who heard Narissa’s comment started complaining about her right away.

Cressida, feeling embarrassed by everyone’s reaction, shot Narissa another warning.

She said, “Narissa, just because you can’t do it yourself doesn’t mean you should be badmouthing your own teammates. That’s just messed up!”

But Narissa couldn’t care less about all the nasty comments around her. She just kept munching on her snacks, totally unbothered, just enjoying the show.

Everyone else was just as shocked–they couldn’t believe Narissa had actually predicted the outcome.

“Narissa, this is all your fault with that jinx mouth of yours! If you hadn’t cursed us, how could we have lost?” Miranda instantly pinned all the blame for the loss on Narissa.

Narissa just gave a cold snort and kept munching on her chips.

Jaylen shot Narissa a complicated look.
