Chapter 89
Chapter 89
Narissa didn’t say anything. Instead, she raised an eyebrow as she watched a masked man slowly make his way onto the competition floor.
He was Cressida’s opponent for this match.
“Who is that guy? Why’s he wearing a mask? He looks like serious trouble,” Gilbert whispered nervously.
Narissa stayed silent.
The match was officially underway now–no one could stop it, unless Cressida gave up.
It was pretty clear that Cressida wasn’t about to back down.
With a sharp whistle, the match began.
Cressida got into her fighting stance, fully aware that she was running on furnes. If she wanted to win, she had to end this fast.
If this dragged on any longer, all her advantages would be gone.
Determined to win, Cressida went on the offensive right away.
Honestly, her skills were decent. She could easily take down most opponents.
But this guy was just on another level. There was no way she’d walk away from this with any dignity left.
Out of nowhere, Narissa whipped out another bag of snack, savoring them as she shook her head.
‘Looks like my show–off sister is about to get a taste of her own medicine, Narissa thought lazily.
“Narissa, keep your dumb eyes wide open. Cressida’s about to win again!” Miranda taunted, trying to get under Narissa’s skin.
Cressida stuffed snacks into her mouth, cheeks puffed out as she munched away happily.
To Jaylen and his friends, she looked absolutely adorable.
“Narissa, I’ve got even tastier snacks here. Come try some!” one of them called out eagerly.
“I brought snacks too. They’re all yours!” another person chimed in.
The upperclassmen were all busy showering Narissa with snacks, not even glancing at the match, let alone paying any attention to Miranda.
Frustrated, Miranda huffed, “Just wait until Cressida wins. Let’s see if those guys stil dote on you.”
“Cressida, you got this!” Miranda stood up and shouted.
Caught up in the excitement, the other students stood up too, cheering for Cressida.
Cressida felt a surge of pride as the crowd cheered her on, but the moment her gaze swept over to Narissa and Jaylen, her smile froze and dropped right off her face.
Cressida fumed inwardly, ‘Damn it, why does Narissa get to stand so close to Jaylen?
And how could he be wiping her mouth for her?
The jealousy was so intense, Cressida could barely think straight.
She took all the jealousy and anger she felt toward Narissa and unleashed it on her opponent in the arena.
‘Go to hell! Cressida raged inwardly.
Cressida kicked off hard with her back foot, launching herself straight at her opponent. She was swinging her right fist while bringing up
her left knee in one fluid motion.

Her plan was to throw her opponent off with a punch first, then go straight for the weak spot with her knee.
This move was all about being fast, ruthless, and dead–on.
As long as she seized the chance, taking her opponent down in one blow wouldn’t be a problem.
But unfortunately, Cressida just wasn’t quick enough.

Her opponent read her move in advance and, taking advantage of his longer reach, slammed his fist into her stomach before she could
get close.
As Cressida let out a pained grunt and dropped to one knee, he quickly stepped forward, grabbed her by the neck, and hoisted her up.
Cressida gasped for air, struggling to break free.
But her opponent didn’t show a shred of mercy. He hoisted her up and slammed her hard onto the ground.
Cressida tumbled across the floor in a mess, pain shooting through her entire body.
A collective gasp rippled through the crowd.
Everyone from Regality Academy drew a sharp breath in shock.
People thought, ‘What’s going on?
‘Who is that guy?
‘He didn’t hold back at all.’
Miranda was trembling all over, her face drained of color.
She was
completely terrified.
But it wasn’t over yet. The masked man didn’t give Cressida even a sliver of a chance to fight back.
Just as Cressida finally managed to stagger to her feet, he landed a vicious kick right to her
gut.
The sheer force of it sent her flying through the air like a ragdoll.
Almost everyone from Regality Academy jumped up from their seats in utter shock.
In their eyes, Cressida was just like a leaf in the wind–her opponent had booted her out of the arena with barely any effort.
Her back crashed hard against the wall of the bleachers before she collapsed to the floor.
She had no idea what had just happened. Instinctively, she tried to get up and keep fighting, but then there was a sickening crack. Her left knee suddenly gave out, and she collapsed to the ground.
A wave of searing pain shot straight to her brain, and that was when she finally realized what had happened to her.
Cressida spat out a mouthful of blood with a wet splatter.
The reality was just too much for her to handle. With her leg broken and the shock and rage hitting her all at once, she coughed up blood
