“I know you’ll deny it, but I can’t think of anyone else with such skills and such a peculiar quirk. You…” Reese’s voice suddenly. cut off.
“Wait, what did you just say? Are you actually admitting you’re Crimson Butterfly?” he asked, eyes wide in shock.
Narissa crossed her arms, a smirk on her lips. “So what? It’s just an identity. Do you really think I’d pretend to be someone I’m not?”
Reese’s voice trembled with excitement. “Just an identity? Do you even realize how many legends Crimson Butterfly has created in the assassin world?
“She’s never failed a mission, and she’s as elusive as a ghost. Everyone knows she’s probably a woman, but no one has any clue about her true background.
“Every person she kills ends up with a red butterfly tattoo on their forehead. In our world of assassins, Crimson Butterfly’s killing techniques are the ultimate form of art. No one else even comes close.”
Narissa let out a cold, mocking laugh.
She narrowed her eyes at Reese. and said, “Is that so?”
Under her gaze, Reese slid right off his wheelchair and dropped to his knees on the floor.
He was drenched in cold sweat, his clothes completely soaked through.
He cursed inwardly, ‘Damn it. I can’t believe I actually managed to offend someone this powerful.
‘She is my ultimate idol, the one I have worshipped above all.‘
He wanted nothing more than to give himself a couple of hard slaps for being so clueless.
He said, “Crimson Butterfly, no, my Queen, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have been so blind. If you’re willing to forgive me, my life is yours to command!”
Reese lay prostrate on the floor, his humility and reverence utterly sincere.
Narissa stared at Reese, lost in thought.
“Is Crimson Butterfly really that big of a deal to you?” she asked with a hint of disbelief in her tone. She never thought that identity was anything special.
Back then, she only took a few jobs because she was bored during her vacation–just looking for something to do.
She never expected that she’d end up becoming a legend on the assassin dark web as Crimson Butterfly.
But it had been years since she faded from the scene. She never expected anyone would still remember her.
“It’s not just that you’re impressive,” Reese said, “To all of us assassins, you’re like a god.”
“That’s a bit much,” Narissa replied dryly.
“Not at all,” Reese said, “For us, killing is just killing. But for you, it’s an art form.
“Over the years, so many have tried to copy you, but they’re nothing but pale imitations.

Chapter 98
“Even now, you’re still one of the greatest mysteries and legends in our world.”
Hearing that, Narissa suddenly bent over toward Reese.
Reese squeezed his eyes shut in excitement, looking like he was about to be graced by Narissa.
But in reality, all Narissa did was reset his joints and use silver needles to help his injury.
By the time she finished, Reese was so moved he nearly burst into tears.
“My Queen, you actually did all this for someone as insignificant as me. I’m truly touched,” he choked out.
Narissa placed her hands behind her back. “Don’t get too emotional. I helped you because I have my own reasons.”
Reese immediately focused all his attention on her, hanging on her every word.
“So, do you want to work for me?” she asked.
Reese shuddered all over, then crawled to Narissa’s feet like an obedient pet.
“My Queen, are you serious? I can really work for you?” he stammered, barely daring to believe it.
Narissa nodded. “Of course. I can see you have real talent. Stick with me, and your abilities will reach new heights.”
He said, “Yes, I’m willing. From now on, my life belongs to you, my Queen!”
Before Narissa could say another word, Reese dropped to his knees.

He placed his right hand over his heart and swore his loyalty, “I swear right here that I will serve Crimson Butterfly Queen for the rest of my life and be your most loyal follower!”
Narissa nodded in satisfaction, then took out her phone.
She said, “Let’s exchange contact info. If I need you, I’ll be in touch.”
“Yes!” Reese replied eagerly.
With eyes full of devotion, he offered up his phone with both hands like it was some sacred treasure.
After they added each other as contacts, Narissa headed home.
Reese, meanwhile, stayed on the floor, staring at her contact info on his phone, grinning like an idiot.

When Narissa got home, she hadn’t even had a chance to see her parents before Cressida, who was sitting in her wheelchair, blocked her way.
Cressida looked at Narissa with a cold, almost inhuman stare, as if she were some kind of freak.
She asked, “Spill it. Who are you, really? How could you possibly beat someone as strong as Reese?
“Weren’t you just some kept woman? How the hell do you know how to do all this?”
Faced with her interrogation, Narissa just replied lazily, “No comment.”

Cressida thought in disbelief, ‘No comment?
Is she actually trying to insult me?‘
She felt her anger shoot straight to the top of her head.
She snapped, “Narissa, don’t think you’re all that just because you helped Regality Academy win.
“If you won’t explain why you’re so skilled, it only proves you’re hiding something.”
“Move. I’m going upstairs,” Narissa replied, not bothering to answer her question.
Cressida lost it again.
