She shouted, “Whether you’re some rich man’s mistress or you’ve got some shady hidden identity, I’m going to dig up all your secrets.

“Just wait and see!”

Narissa shrugged helplessly, as if she really couldn’t understand why Cressida was so mad.

Without another word, she simply nudged Cressida’s wheelchair out of the way with her foot and headed upstairs.

“Stop right there!”

Narissa ignored her completely.

Cressida slammed her fist against the armrest of her wheelchair. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell Grandpa or Mom and Dad about this for now.

“I don’t want them to worry along with me.”

“Suit yourself,” Narissa replied casually.

She hadn’t planned on responding, but seeing that Cressida at least cared about their parents, she decided to reply for once.

“And you better keep your mouth shut too. You’ve got way too many secrets, and I won’t let you drag them into your mess,” Cressida said.

Narissa just waved her hand behind her without even turning around, making it impossible to tell if she agreed or not.

Seeing that same careless attitude from Narissa again, Cressida felt her anger spike even higher.

She was trying to cover for Narissa and keep her secrets, but Narissa didn’t even bother to show a hint of gratitude. She just acted like she couldn’t care less.

‘So that’s it? Narissa really doesn’t care about this family at all, Cressida thought bitterly.

Back in her room, Narissa received a text from Reese.

He said he would terminate his contract with Lunaris Academy and officially become her servant.

Narissa glanced at the message, deleted it, and then collapsed onto her bed to sleep.

Meanwhile, after sending the message, Reese kept staring at his phone screen, hoping for a reply from her.

But even when the principal of Lunaris Academy arrived, she still hadn’t sent him a single message.

That left him feeling a little disappointed.

“Reese, you went back on your word this time. You promised you’d help us win, so how did we still lose?” the principal of Lunaris Academy asked.

“I got careless this time, so I’m willing to return everything you paid me,” Reese replied calmly.

“Mr. Nash, I’m not trying to hold this against you, it’s just that…” The principal quickly got to his feet.

Reese interrupted him. “I know, but this is my decision.”

“Why?” The principal looked completely baffled.

“I’ve found someone I truly want to serve, so I won’t be working for you anymore. Take my advice. Don’t ever make an enemy of Regality Academy again,” Reese said.

The principal looked even more confused.

He asked, “Why? Is it because of that girl who managed to beat you? I know your skills. There’s no way you could’ve lost that easily.

“She must have cheated or pulled some dirty trick. I can help you appeal this!”

“Shut up!” Reese snapped, his eyes flashing with a dangerous glint.

A hint of murderous intent flickered in his gaze.

The principal of Lunaris Academy jumped.

“Mr. Nash, what’s going on?” he asked.

Reese gave a cold warning. “If you hadn’t treated me with respect, I wouldn’t even bother warning you.

“Just remember to never piss off that girl, or it’ll be your death sentence.”

At those words, the principal of Lunaris Academy broke out in a cold sweat.

“Death sentence?” he stammered.

He’d already had people look into it. He found out that Narissa was just the Everton family’s recently returned daughter.

But if Reese was this terrified of her, he felt that she must have some other secret identity no one knew about.

Early the next morning, before dawn had even broken, Narissa slipped out of the house.

On one hand, she thought staying home was just too dull. On the other hand, she felt like doing a little window shopping and maybe picking up a few things.

She parked her car and made her way to Sinney City’s most bustling shopping district, ready to indulge in some serious retail therapy and enjoy a rare, peaceful day off.

Narissa glanced around, found a shop that looked decent enough, and was just about to walk in.

“Stop right there!” Suddenly, a hand shot out and blocked her way.

Narissa looked over at the person.

His clothes were nothing special, but his posture and the energy he gave off were anything but ordinary.

There was only one place someone could pick up that commanding, disciplined presence.

Narissa instantly knew that he was a soldier.

“Hello, Miss Everton. You might not know me, but I know exactly who you are,” the man said.

“How do you know me?” Narissa replied.

He said, “I watched your match at the stadium. Your agility, your strength, and most of all, your unshakable composure under pressure.

“You’re a rare top–tier talent, exactly what we’re looking for.”

His stern face made it clear he wasn’t the type to hand out praise lightly.

But since he said it, he clearly meant every word.

“So what?” Narissa replied, sounding completely unimpressed.

He explained, “Actually, I’m from the Elite Military Academy in Sinney City. My job is to travel all over Rothialand, recruiting top talent and training them to serve our nation.”

Narissa raised an eyebrow.

She thought, ‘Elite Military Academy?

‘All I did was get into a fight, and somehow they’d already taken notice of me.

That really caught me off guard.

‘If the old–timers at the Military Intelligence Office found out that the Elite Military Academy was trying to poach me, I could just imagine the interesting looks on their faces.

‘Now this is really getting interesting.’
