t shift effortlessly into Serena, and she makes it a teal show. The attention seeker knows her angles and loves showing off.

Beverly gasps and speaks barely above a whisper. “She’s beautiful“.

David speaks but seems more confused. “That’s a normal wolf. I thought a werewolf was big, scary, and walked on its back legs.

Connor fills them in. “That’s a Lycan form. Lewana can do that as well, but she only does it in battle“.

Beverly then looks at Connor, concerned. “And you kill these creatures“.

Connor sighs. “Technically, yes. Think of it more like a police officer. If some are misbehaving, we put them in prison. If they are deadly and dangerous, then yes, we kill them. It’s how my first wife died. Protecting Stella“.

You can see the pain on his face, and Kimberly goes over and pats his back to comfort him..

David then seems to realise something. “If a werewolf took your first wife, how would you protect Kimberly from the same fate?“.

Connor smiles at this. “Honestly, it is because of the pack. Conrad, Lewana’s mate, has welcomed us into his world to protect us from our common enemies. None of the wolves would harm Kimberly here. She teaches their pups and cares for them. When my wife died, we lived in a shack in the forest by ourselves. Completely off–grid and cast aside from the world we protected. Here we have an entire military that will protect the family“.

The mention of family is what won them over.

I leave them to talk and get ready for this evening. Kimberly wanted them to have the entire royal treatment, so we organised a fancy

dinner.

I was honestly a bit worried. I hadn’t been to a dinner since the first night I arrived. Memories flooded back to me as I brushed my hair mindlessly.

“I think your hair is lovely, darling“.

Conrad’s voice threw me off, and I turned to see him staring at me with loving eyes. I realised he could sense my nerves.

He came over and sat beside me as he pulled me into a gentle hug with his hand resting on my belly. He sent all the love and support down the bond as we just thought about how everything would be different.

We went all out with the outfit, jewels, and crowns. We entered through the main door together, hand in hand, and went straight to where Beverly and David were seated.

Conrad took over the formalities. “You must be Beverly and David. I must applaud you for raising such an amazing daughter. She has done incredible work teaching the pups of our pack, even teaching some adults who have asked“.

Both stood dumbfounded with their mouths open at the sight of him. The epitome of tall, dark, and handsome. Success and opulence radiated off him with incredible manner and welcoming eyes.

Chapter 221

Beverly was instantly taken, and David gave him a strong handshake with admiration.

The rest of the evening went well as Conrad oozed charm. He regaled them with stories from the military day with Liam, discussed his politics, and focused on the importance of family life within the pack. He even told a minor, embarrassing story about Connor.

Everyone was very settled at the end of the night, and we all headed to bed late.

We go into the room, and I’m confused when Conrad goes straight to the drawer of his side table and pulls out a book. He hides it behind his back and looks at me with a cheeky grin.

“If it’s alright with you, Lewana, I would like to speak to Serena for a second“.

What is he up to? Serena surges forward and stares at him eagerly. He just smiles.

“Serena. I know you didn’t like it when you saw Kimberly had the shiny rock on her finger, so I wanted to offer you one. But because I know you are very independent, I wanted to let you pick it so you are happy with it“.

That kiss ass. He knew I would tell him a diamond ring is not necessary. He is playing on Serena’s pride and jealousy so he can buy us something expensive.

I internally roll my eyes, but Serena races forward, grabs the jewelry catalog, and starts flicking through the pages.

“How big is Kimberly’s shiny rock? Mine needs to be bigger because I’m Luna Queen“.

He just smiles and points at the numbers. “Hers is two carats, so pick a bigger number“.

Serena is instantly flicking through the book to find the biggest number she can. I try to slow her down.

“We don’t need the biggest ring“.

“He is a billionaire Alpha King, and we are Luna Queen. We need a big ring, or everyone else will question why we got a little rock“.

I think about it, and she’s not wrong. Eventually, I will be going out with Conrad to events, and if I’m not up to everyone else’s standard, ring as well, people will ask questions.

I start imagining different rings, and I keep going back to moonstone.

Serena throws the book across the floor and starts searching the internet to find a ring that matches what I’m imagining. I tri–ring collection. The base and top of a diamond band with a large teardrop moonstone in the middle.

Serena turns the phone excitedly to Conrad. “I want that one“.

He just laughs and agrees.

Serena jumps into his arms and starts kissing him. Passionately.
