If she signed Teri up for a summer camp like this, she figured it would gently push her to participate, even if only a little.

“Thank you so much,” Athena said. If they call tonight, I can tell Zaden as soon as he returns. He probably won’t mind me taking Teri.

After registering, Athena lingered in the park with Teri for a while longer.

With gentle encouragement, Teri even tried a few pieces of playground equipment, though her eyes never left Athena. She clung to her presence as if afraid she might disappear.

Athena watched her with deep affection.
