Chapter 135 Won’t Forgive
Finished
Lewis looked almost painfully sincere, as if he were one step away from dropping to his knees, begging Athena for forgiveness.
But Athena remained unmoved; his words stirred nothing within her.
“I thought you and Nina were happy together. What’s this? You got your thrill from marrying her, and now you want to chase something else?”
Lewis shot back immediately. “No! I told you before–I didn’t want to marry Nina. I was forced.”
“Really?” Athena’s lips curved into a mocking smile. “Funny, you looked pretty cheerful coming here with her. The three of you make such a perfect little family. I genuinely wish you all the
best.”
Lewis had once loved Nina fiercely.
And now he was here, pleading with Athena, as if he could fix everything with the word “sorry.”
But there was no going back–no returning to what they once had.
Seeing Athena so resolute made his panic surge. Deep down, he knew that she was slipping further and further from him.
Do we still have any chance left?
Fear gnawed at him, and his composure finally snapped. He lunged, grabbing Athena’s wrist, trying to pull her close. “Athena, I was wrong! Please, give me another chance. Forgive me!”
“Lewis, let go!”
Athena’s face darkened as she struggled, trying to break free.
Her movements were careful. If the door hadn’t blocked the cameras, the entire struggle would already be broadcast to the world. A live video of her being dragged into her ex–husband’s arms would spread across Vlephia in minutes.
Lewis’s grip burned, locking her in place.
Athena fought with all her strength, but she couldn’t break free.
Suddenly, the door swung open, and in an instant, both were caught on camera. A wave of despair crashed over Athena.
Oh God.

Just as she felt trapped, someone yanked her back.
She looked up into the strong, steady gaze of Zaden, his hand firm on her waist, keeping her upright.
“You alright?”
Athena shook her head, dazed. Somehow, the panic in her chest eased, and without thinking, she felt completely safe in Zaden’s presence.
Zaden’s gaze lingered on her for a moment, scanning her carefully.
Once he was sure she was fine, his eyes shifted away.
Turning to Lewis, his expression hardened, his voice low and warning. “Mr. Belmont, your behavior isn’t acceptable. Stop wandering around and disturbing others.”
Lewis’s glare sharpened, displeasure clear.
Frowning, he spat, “Zaden, kicking a guy when he’s down? That’s low.”
Zaden let out a quiet, almost amused laugh.
“If you don’t have what it takes, it’s better to shut up. Marriage isn’t a game,” he said evenly. “You don’t get to throw tantrums and expect everything to go your way.
“Your behavior only makes you look pathetic. Do you really think crawling back like this shows devotion? That simply because you come begging, she should give you another chance?
“If you truly loved Athena, why chase another woman? If you couldn’t control yourself, at least have the decency to admit it. Some mistakes don’t come with second chances. You’ve already lost yours.”
Athena nodded, silently agreeing.
Zaden’s words were sharp and precise, echoing exactly what she had thought herself.
She would never, under any circumstances, give Lewis a second chance.
Lewis was hopelessly immature.
He had betrayed her the moment he wanted Nina. And now that he was bored, he expected her to welcome him back.
Life doesn’t work like that. The world didn’t revolve around him!
