They had already discussed their plan. Athena would come up with the words, Teri would do the drawing, and Zaden would guess.
Athena thought back on their time together and chose items that all three of them shared memories of. Teri reacted fast–by the time Athena finished writing the word, Teri had already drawn it.
Zaden didn’t even need to think. The moment Teri finished, he called out the answer.
One after another, he got every question right.
Athena started giving prompts faster, and Teri stopped bothering with details, using just a few quick lines to show the answer.
Zaden didn’t disappoint either. The instant he saw the drawing, he said the correct word.
Everyone stared in disbelief, jaws practically hitting the floor.
Zaden had already guessed ten words correctly, and he was still going strong.
Soon their round ended.
“That was incredible! Mr. and Mrs. Storm have amazing chemistry!” Ronan’s voice brought everyone back to their senses.
Even though the other families had lost, they couldn’t stop watching Zaden and Athena’s performance.
One gave the prompt, the child drew, and the other answered without hesitation. The whole thing flowed like clockwork.
Everyone burst into applause.
“Mr. and Mrs. Storm, you two are amazing–and Teri, you were fantastic too. Your family must really understand each other!”
Athena smiled but didn’t bother to explain.
She hadn’t spent much time with Zaden or Teri which was far less than she had spent with Lewis and Dion together.
But somehow, their teamwork had been flawless.
Even she was surprised.

Chapter 152 Perfect Teamwork

Finished
Nina and Lewis stood off to the side, their faces dark as they listened to everyone praising Athena. It felt like a heavy stone was pressing on their chests.
Nina had been so sure they would win this round.
She never expected to lose to Athena and Zaden again.
Dion was the most upset. He couldn’t believe he’d lost to Teri twice and that Athena seemed to know Teri better than she knew him. Wasn’t she supposed to love him the most?
Jealousy flared inside him. He ran over, shouting, “Mom, why are you with her? I don’t like her!”
Athena was talking to the other parents when Dion rushed up to her, his face full of anger. She looked down at him, her eyes complicated.
After all, she had raised him herself. She couldn’t just feel nothing.
But she couldn’t go soft, either.
Her expression cooled as she said calmly, “Your mom’s over there. You’ve got the wrong person. I’m not your mom.”
The words hit Dion like a knife to the heart.
He had once wished Nina could be his mother, but now that she was, he wasn’t happy at all. He still wanted Athena to be his mom.
Only Athena had ever treated him kindly. Nina never did.
Crushed, Dion turned and ran off.
Nina froze in shock. She couldn’t believe Dion had called Athena ‘Mom‘ in front of everyone. Her face turned red, then pale. She wished the ground would just swallow her whole.
“Lewis, how could Dion do that? He embarrassed us in front of everyone!”
Nina’s voice trembled, but Lewis didn’t react. After a long pause, he said coldly, “Go find him. If anything happens to Dion, you’ll regret it.”
Hearing that, Nina’s stomach twisted with worry.
Right now, Dion was the only thing she had left to hold on to. If anything happened to him, she’d lose everything.
Without another word, she turned and ran after Dion.
