But when Zaden came back with dinner, both of them were gone. Athena hadn’t called or left a single message.
He knew she wasn’t the kind of person to ignore the rules. Something must have happened.
After thinking for a moment, he had a rough idea of what it might be.
Athena sighed softly. “It’s nothing. I just ran into someone, so I came back early. I forgot to tell you, sorry.”
Zaden pressed his lips together but didn’t ask more.
Athena still wasn’t ready to open up to him, and he respected that.
“Aren’t you hungry? Let’s eat,” he said.
Athena nodded. “Yeah, let’s eat.”
She pushed away the heaviness in her chest and called Teri over for dinner.
That night.
Nina soaked herself in a bubble bath, then slipped into a red satin nightgown.
She was going to seduce Lewis.
Lately, he hadn’t touched her at all. They were sleeping in separate beds, and in front of others, he wouldn’t even pretend to be affectionate.
All his past tenderness now felt like a dream.
If only that dream would never end.
Dion wasn’t close to her either. He refused to stand on her side and kept calling for Athena instead,
So she had to take matters into her own hands. If she got pregnant again and kept the child close, this one would surely be more obedient than Dion.
A cold glint flashed in Nina’s eyes. She glanced at her reflection in the mirror—seductive and beautiful–and smiled with satisfaction before walking out.

It was a small suite. Lewis had his own room, while Nina shared one with Dion. She quietly turned the knob to his door.
The door wasn’t locked. She put on a soft, surprised smile and slowly stepped inside.
Lewis wasn’t in the room. He was sitting out on the balcony.
He sat motionless in the corner, his figure blending into the dark. The chill radiating from him was as cold as the night air.
Nina walked over and leaned down behind him.
“Lewis, it’s getting late. You’ve had a long day. You should rest,” she murmured, then lowered her voice with a hint of seduction. “Or maybe I can give you a massage?”
She let her silk nightgown slip slightly, her pale skin gleaming under the light, swaying deliberately in front of him.
If they weren’t on the balcony, she might have stripped right there.
Her hand slid down his chest in slow, teasing motions, but when it reached his waist, Lewis suddenly grabbed her wrist hard.
Nina gasped softly. “Lewis, easy. You’re hurting me.”
Lewis stood up, his face cold. “If you’re tired, go to sleep. Stop parading yourself in front of me.”
He pulled her forcefully toward the door. She stumbled, catching sight of something out of the corner of her eye–the neighboring balcony.
Was that Athena standing there?
Why was she here? Did she see everything just now?
Or had Athena been talking to Lewis before she arrived? Were they secretly in touch?
Before she could say anything, Lewis dragged her to the doorway, opened the door, and shoved
her out.
The door slammed shut and locked behind her.
Nina fell hard on the floor. Shock and fury filled her face. She couldn’t believe Lewis had thrown her out like that. Was he saving himself for Athena?
