Chapter 156 Drawing the Line
“How’s that thing I asked you to check on?”
“Yes, Mr. Belmont. We’ve tracked down the nurse. You’ll have updates soon.”
Lewis’s eyes turned cold. “Hurry up.”
After hanging up, he finally exhaled deeply.

Maybe once he found his daughter, Athena would come back to him for the sake of giving her child a real family.
Meanwhile, in the next room.
Athena returned to her suite just as Harriet’s voice came through the phone. “Wait, did I just hear Lewis’s voice?”
“You heard right.”
“What? Are you with him? You can’t be serious!” Harriet’s voice rose in panic. “Athena, don’t you dare
go soft on him. Don’t forget what that man did to you. If you even think about getting back with him, I swear–I’ll cut you off!”
Athena could practically picture Harriet pacing and waving her hands on the other end.
She chuckled. “Relax. Teri’s asleep, and I didn’t want to wake her, so I stepped out to the balcony. Lewis happened to be out there too. Our rooms are right next to each other.”
“Oh right, you guys drew those rooms by chance,” Harriet said, sounding relieved then curious again. “Wait, was Nina there too? I swear I heard something weird. Were they fighting? Or was he pushing her away?”
Athena raised her brows, amused by how sharp Harriet’s ears were.
“You pretty much got a front–row seat to the whole show,” she said.
Harriet snorted. “Lewis is pathetic. He used to be all over Nina, now he’s acting like some loyal saint. What’s next, saving himself for you? What a joke.”
Athena rubbed her temples. “Whatever. Let him do what he wants.”
Hearing the disinterest in Athena’s voice, Harriet finally relaxed.

At least Athena wasn’t falling for him again.

Meanwhile, Nina was struggling to get up off the floor when Dion walked in.
He stood over her with a smug grin. “Dad doesn’t care about you. He only loves my mom!”
Nina had already been furious after being thrown out by Lewis. Now her own son was mocking her? Her face twisted with rage, and she shook with anger.
“Watch your mouth!” she snapped.
She glared coldly at Dion. “You think taking Athena’s side will make her like you? She’ll never accept you. You’re my son—she hates you for that!”
Dion’s face darkened, remembering how Athena had walked away from him earlier.
His eyes went red.
Dion’s body trembled as he clenched his tiny fists. Gritting his teeth, he shouted, “Shut up! Mom’s just mad at me right now. She’ll forgive me! Once she finds out Teri was lying, she’ll forgive me for sure! She will!”
In his mind, the only reason Athena hadn’t forgiven him yet was because she was still angry.
Nina couldn’t help but laugh at his childish hope.
Her eyes gleamed with cold amusement. “Alright, let’s bet. Even if you make Teri talk, Athena still won’t want you. Deal?
“If you lose, you’ll do everything I say from now on.”
She was mostly joking, but Dion’s eyes suddenly lit up.
If he could get Teri to speak, Athena would know he’d been telling the truth.
The next morning.
Athena stepped out of her room and ran into Lewis. He looked at her seriously, “I didn’t touch Nina last night.”
Athena let out a cold laugh and said lazily, “And? What’s that got to do with me? You and Nina are husband and wife. You can sleep together all you want, a hundred times a day if that’s what you like. No need to report it to me.”
She’d overheard plenty last night while on the phone with Harriet–the yelling, the struggle. It
