“Did you find that director who handled the case back then?”

“Not yet. We tracked down some leads last time, but she must’ve gotten wind of it. By the time. we went to her place, she was already gone.”
Hearing that unpleasant news, Lewis’s face grew darker.
The room was dim, his figure hidden in the shadows, surrounded by a cold, suffocating air.
This daughter was his only bargaining chip to win Athena back, but now he couldn’t find the person from back then or the daughter who was given away.
Even if he divorced Nina, it wouldn’t make Athena think highly of him.
What was he supposed to do?
Back at the villa, Athena and Zaden began preparing dinner together.
They worked together and soon, they were sitting around the table, ready to eat. Athena was enthusiastically helping Teri with her food and Teri kept smiling throughout the time.
Zaden watched the two of them interact and fell deep in his thought.
After a while, he said, “Athena, I want Teri to start going to school.”
Both Athena and Teri looked up at him in surprise.
“School?” Athena asked.
Why did he suddenly bring that up?
Seeing Athena’s confused look, Zaden patiently explained, “Teri is already starting later than other kids. Now that her condition is stable and she seems just like any other child, I hope she can catch up with kids her age.”
Athena nodded in agreement.
When a child seems perfectly normal, there’s no reason to treat her as if she’s special. Being able to live and learn like other children is actually a wonderful thing.
She quickly said, “I think that’s a great idea. Teri is a smart girl, and she’ll know what to do.”
Then, Athena looked at Teri and asked, “Teri, do you want to go to elementary school?”

Teri looked down when she heard Athena’s question.

She wasn’t sure if she wanted to go, but Athena wanted her to, so she wanted to say yes. She wanted Athena to be happy.
Teri didn’t hesitate for long and immediately nodded in agreement. “I’ll go!”
Athena couldn’t help but smile when she heard that.
It seemed like Teri wasn’t against it either, so the matter was settled smoothly.
Dinner was especially pleasant because Teri had agreed to go to school. After dinner, Athena helped Teri take a bath and put her to sleep before leaving the room.
When she came out, she found Zaden had already cleaned up the table and washed the dishes.
He was wearing casual clothes, with his sleeves rolled up, and he looked very charming. Athena suddenly remembered the message from earlier today. The girl who gets to be with Zaden must be very happy.
For some reason, a faint feeling of sadness suddenly popped up in her heart.
The moment she noticed that emotion, she quickly pushed it down.
It was probably just because they’d been spending so much time together lately.
They didn’t belong to the same world
anyway.
“Teri is asleep. I should get going,” Athena said.
Zaden picked up his car keys. “I’ll drive you home.”
Athena was going to refuse, but she thought that Zaden was a gentleman and he would definitely make sure she got home safely.
So, she nodded and said, “Thank you, then.”
As they headed toward the door, Athena suddenly paused and looked back toward the bedroom. She felt worried and asked, “Will Teri be okay by herself?”
“She sleeps through the night. And she’s not a five–year–old anymore. If she wakes up, she won’t throw a tantrum. She’s got her smartwatch. If she needs me, she can call.”
Hearing that, Athena felt reassured.
