“He was hurt pretty badly by his ex. When she left, Zaden tried hard to make her stay, but she never came back. If he asked you to get back together this time, he probably had to break through a lot of his own walls.

Athena was silent for a long time. Harriet’s words left her stunned. She hadn’t realized that just asking her to reconcile had taken all of Zaden’s courage.

He laughed quietly. “I knew you’d change your mind. I’ve been waiting for you to come back.”

His voice was full of smug

Athena’s expression went cold. She said, “I am considering your offer, but if you want me to get back with you, I need to see my daughter first. Let me see her, then I’ll think about what you

said.”

She added coldly, “Who knows if you’re telling me the truth.”

Lewis sneered. “Athena, why would I lie to you? I never do anything I’m not sure of. If I’m saying this, it means I really found our daughter.”
