After helping Teri into her pajamas, Athena spent quite a while coaxing her to sleep.

The moment she sent that, she realized what Kit was getting at, so she sent another message. “You want me to pretend to get back together with Lewis?”

“Lewis is definitely on guard with me. No matter how hard I try, I won’t be able to dig up anything useful. If you look into it yourself, you’ll probably get answers faster than I could.”

After reading Kit’s message, Athena felt a wave of frustration wash over her.

She wanted nothing to do with Lewis ever again, let alone get back together with him.
