Martin noticed Athena’s cold demeanor and realized she and Lewis hadn’t really gotten back together. He gave a little awkward laugh to break the tension, then opened the car door for Athena.

On the way, Athena watched the scenery rolling past. They were headed for Moonridge Mountain, where the famous Moonridge Estate was located.

She’d heard that the owner of Moonridge Estate was a major figure in Vlephia, and that big events were often held there. It seemed today’s event was going to be at the estate as well.

Athena glanced at Martin. “We’re going to Moonridge Estate?”

Martin replied, “Yes, Mrs. Belmont. Tonight’s charity gala is at Moonridge Estate. All the most prominent families in Vlephia will be there.”

Athena ignored him.

Lewis didn’t seem bothered. He offered her his arm and said, “Let’s go, Mrs. Belmont!”

Meanwhile, in Zaden’s office, Tommy carefully approached him and said, “Mr. Storm, everything is ready. Should we head to Moonridge Estate now?”

“Yes.” Zaden nodded.

Tommy hesitated, then added, “I just checked, and it looks like Lewis will be there too.”

Zaden’s brow furrowed, and he glanced at Tommy.

Feeling nervous, Tommy continued, “It seems like he’s attending the gala with Ms. Hall.”

Tommy had no idea what was going on between Zaden and Athena now.

Earlier in the week, he’d often seen them texting about Teri. Sometimes when he entered the office, he’d catch them talking.

He’d thought for sure they were getting back together. But now, Athena was showing up at this gala with Lewis, and Tommy just couldn’t figure out what was going on.

If other people noticed, they’d definitely start gossiping.

Athena must have known this.
